Good point, in fact in my experience half of the "mechanics" at any shop aren't really mechanics. And, no matter how much they insist on being called "Technicians" or "Mechanics", they're really just parts changers, and barely that.

Every other Tuesday. Seems like the younger generation feels they deserve things without earning it. Oh well, just a few more years for me.

Stupid people. Had a guy call yesterday to order a part for an 18 year old bike. This part is $100 and fits this model only. He said he would call back if he needed to order. He calls this morning and said order this and I will be in tomorrow to pay and maybe look at a tire. I said great and told him I would need a credit card over the phone to order it or just wait until tomorrow to order. He started to throw a fit complaining how no motorcycle dealer will order parts without getting paid first. He said he has been in the automotive industry for 18 years and never has to pay. Just sat there listening and let him vent. I asked him if he ever has to pay up front when he orders from amazon or walmart online? (Very nicely) He didnt like that and said he was going to take his business elsewhere. He did say thank you and I replied your welcome.

Usually I can feel if it’s going a little bit sideways. However, the female thread had a conical opening. I’m not sure why but it did. Like I needed a funneled opening to start the threads. No wonder I didn’t feel it right away. Never got tight, especially not forced. Pretty crappy set up for sure. Oh well. What can I say. $h!T happens.
