Understanding my Hygrometer

I just received my Costway 50-75 count Humidor. It came with a digital Hygrometer but it is not clear to me how to read the instrument. It tells me the Temperature and has what appears to be a hygrometer, however the hygrometer only shows a green triangular shape around 70% and it seems like it may fill in with color the greater the humidity...? It does not seem to move in any way otherwise. Am I missing something or did my humidor come with a worthless hygrometer?

Probably, but since we can't see it, how about posting a picture of it or see if there is a brand.

Yeah, the green is where the humidity is supposed to be, according to them.
The dashes are where it actually is. So reading your hygrometer, it reads 75%.
Which is about right, if you are seasoning.
The problem is, is there any documentation that came with it about calibration?
Whether it is calibrated or needs calibration? It might need calibration.
Oh, btw don't put too much credence in keeping it between 68-70%.
Over time you will find that those numbers don't work for you.
I personally like my cigars in the 65% range.
Most of my desktop humidors that have hygrometers, the ones that came with it are just for show.
I put the one I actually use inside.

If it doesn't have documentation for the hygrometer, I would err on the side of caution and assume it isn't calibrated.
Although I could be wrong and it might be calibrated.
At which point, the other hygrometer will verify it's accuracy and you will eventually use it for your overflow humidor.

My buddy George has the same thing on his overly expensive humidor.
When I asked him about it, his reply was simply to use that to visually tell if you are close with only a glance from anywhere in the room and it looks fancy. The hygrometer that counts is digital and inside.
