When a person responds to emails

Or to a text or even posts, you have to wonder of they read any of it. Because more often than bot, their reply has nothing to do with your question.
And I admit, I am guilty of it myself.

Sent an email to our payroll today, caise they started this new thing where you can cash out 40 hours of vacation, providing it will leave you 80 hours left. I have way more than enough for that.

So I asked, quite simply, when I send in the request and the manager signs off, when does it get paid out?

Evidently, my use of the English language loses translation in emails.
The reply.
You will have to get with your manager and fill it out and send it in.
😲

I understand. But when does it get paid.

And the reply..
Your manager will have to sign it and send it it.
😖

Yes, I got that part. But how long until I get my money??

Now I pissed her off.

That information was provided in the documentation that was sent out in the email. You should have read it.

Oh! Ok. Cause that 10 page document was kind of hard to read. And to be quite honest, I started to nod off on page 3. I see now, that the info was on page 8, so I apologize for wasting your time.
Thank you for that information.

Yep, now she's really pissed.
I know, cause my manager called me and she told him so. 🤣

You’re not alone, Tony. I’ve noticed that it isn't just emails, etc. You can be standing face to face with a person and ask a question and have the same thing happen.

After about the third attempt I usually just give up and walk away. Folks have this tendency to answer what they THINK you want to know instead of what you asked them.

If they’d only be as literal as their computer is, maybe they’d get it...  ya s’pose??

Don't be asking someone to do their jobs, that really pisses them off.
I'll gladly bomb you Tuesday for an Opus today.

I must admit, now, I’m dying to know when you get the money.

On the next paycheck after it is received and entered.
And the be clear, the date it is receoved and the date it is entered can be some time apart.
So if I am lucky, I get $1,500 added to my paycheck Nov 1, But since I pissed them off, probably Dec 1. 🤣

And the boss lady already has it marked for the kitchen budget. 😣

    "More often than bot..."

I hope that was intentional, because it's a genius line in this context.
Intelligence is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

I like Oliva and Quesada (including Regius) a lot.  I will smoke anything, though.
