We Alaskans have no lottery so for 104 years we've wagered on when the ice breaks up in the Tanana River in Nenana. A tripod is frozen into the ice, connected to a clock by a cable and when the tripod moves far enough, the cable pulls off the clock and stops it. Details at www.nenanaakiceclassic.com
Guesses are usually date & time to the minute, but we're just going minutes here to keep it simple Here's the deal:
Forum fiver buy in, good traders only please. Winner takes all.
12 total spots corresponding to 5 minutes each. Spot 1 is 0 - 4, Spot 2 is 5 - 9 and so on to Spot 12 covering 55 - 59. Pick a spot between 1 and 12 inclusive. If it doesn't fill and no one picks the winning slot, we go counterclockwise till there's a picked spot.
Open till filled or April 5. I'll keep track and post a list when it fills or on the 5 th.
Lottery payout criteria apply... Don't be that guy.
This may take awhile.... The ice has gone out as early as April 14 and as late as May 20. Good luck!!!!

We regret to inform you that due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19 the ice melting has been postponed until further notice. The committee will be meeting weekly to review the best way to proceed with the melting to minimize risk to all those involved. We appreciate your understanding.
