Why wasn't my message approved?

Hey Newbies, if you get an error message when trying to post to the forum that "your comment will appear after it's been approved" try posting without quoting others, especially try without a lot of usernames like @yakster, etc.  

For some reason this happens to newbies, but after a mysterious (to me) amount of time (about a week, I've heard) and experience (maybe secret badges) it doesn't happen any longer. It's been a while since I've been a newbie and my memory isn't that good.

Generally these comments sit in the bit bucket forever waiting to be approved except that one time when hundreds and hundreds of pending comments were approved en mass flooding the forum with old replies to long forgotten conversations like a wormhole had opened up or something.

    Or you could what I did and pay Peter five dollars and he would get them approved faster......At least that's what he told me.....I think I got snookered.

    Just happened to me. You would think that after 300+ post they already know I'm going to say something inappropriate!
    Now this is not the end of the cigar. It is not even the beginning of the end of the cigar. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning of the cigar.

    I think @CigarChick must be on sabbatical or something. Haven’t heard a peep out of her for a good while, now, even though she’s been asked to respond.....
