Yee that have children know what I am talking about.

My daughter has a bad cough tonight. She was coughing so hard tonight that she was making herself sick. So instead of letting her puke all over her favorite blanket I put out my cupped hands and she yakked and I caught it! of course I went to the bathroom and rinsed and washed my hands afterwards. Id do it again!

Good catch! We do that for our kids.

good job, I would have done the same. Mine has allergies, and coughs till she throws up as well. We put a menthol humidifier in her room, and it really helps with the coughing she gets in the winter. I really hope your daughter feels better.

Thanks Bob, Yeah, she has a fairly bad cold and it acts up at night. We give her asthma medicine for it (even though she doesnt have asthma.) We only use it as needed, not preventative.

Awesome job Dad! LOL It never ceases to amaze me, the stuff we are willing to do for our kids that we would never ever consider doing otherwise. Two "tween" daughters here, and I am TOTALLY wrapped around their fingers & proud of it! :-)

I made the mistake of changing my son's diaper on the new sofa when he was a baby. After I removed the diaper he started pooping and yes I caught it in my hands. The things you do for your children.

My 16 month old went from a two a dayer to being plugged up for a month. She has had two trips to the ER and has now seen the specialist twice. Luckily she is getting better. My wife normally takes care of the dirty work but she had to travel for business a couple weeks ago. Well, I had to shove a sapos. . . . . . up her. . . . . . I guess I'm not ready to talk about it. I thought I was ready but I threw up a little in my mouth just thinking about it.

My one year old little girl has been sick for the last 3 days. Tonight after her bath, while wearing her fleece, footed pajama's she let loose with a bout of diahrrea that shot out the side of her diaper and filled the non-zippered side of her pj's. I gagged, my wife laughed and the kid cried....it was a mess. Literally, she was covered from the small of her back down to her toes.

I'm going to ring in with the step-father and now grandfather comments. In '86 at the age of 28 I married for the first, (and only time). She had 2 sons, (the oldest by adoption), ages 8 and 10. She had been involved in an abusive relationship which had been witnessed by the children. I loved my wife but I was ill-prepared for marriage and certainly "fatherhood". I didn't provide the love and guidance the children needed during this transition and their teen years. I was still in my "selfish age" and was more concerned about my wants and needs. At age 16, Sean went to live with his father, (800 miles away), and at 18, Chris went to college and National Guard. It was not untill they were in their early 20's that I realized how special they were. I had deprived them and myself of so many valuable things during their teen years. Sean is now married and we have 3 granddaughters and Chris is also married. I now have a strong and loving relationship with them all. Chris still lives near and we are able to bike and run together. Sean joined the Army and served in Iraq. He is now out but still lives 800 miles away. (Both have a near non-existent relationship with their father.) I did miss out on many of the things you've mentioned here, but I am blessed to now have a strong family and thank God for it. Unfortunately I do have regrets for all the good times I squandered. I pray that I and everyone stay mindful of our blessings so that we may live our lives without regret.

These Filthy Hands

I don't have any kids, but when my dog was a puppy, he started pooping in my dad's house. I picked him up mid deuce and carried him outside. Got poop all over my shirt and pants. Had to throw them out. In retrospect, that was a bad idea.

I can relate here. My son has been sick with a cold and he wanted to be held so there I was, walking around the house with snot crusted up on both shoulders of my shirt, box of tissues in on hand, kid in the other... lol It doesn't even matter though. Anything to make him feel better!

I think we have all experienced that. And you just know you will get sick next because it is all over you. My 6 month old son likes to hide his face and he rubbed his booger running nose right across my lips while trying to cover his face up.

I like to lift my 6 month old into the air and he gets to laughing and has a big huge open mouth toothless grin. He is teething and drooling so a few times I have had drool go straight into my mouth or up my nose while doing this.

I can relate to that one too! When my son was little I used to lift him over my head and make faces at him. He would laugh so hard and one time he spit up right into my mouth. It was so nasty tasting and smelling! It was all I could do to get him to my wife and run for the bathroom! LoL Kids are great! But they are expensive pets!

My daughter got better quickly. Now I just need to catch up on my sleep. I was thinkiing this weekend that when she was real young she had bad reflux. I remember being all ready for work many times and having to go change and re-shower after giving her an AM bottle and wearing it all over my work clothes 10 minutes later. That was Gross!
