I know it's a double post but I put in so much effort lol......

    Well since you asked lol

Normally I make these with grapefruit soda but the pineapple soda ain't bad at all. When it's hot these are just awesome.

    Paloma (kind of)

    Glad glass full of ice
    2ish oz tequila
Splash of lime juice (key lime is my jam)
    Dash of orange bitters (optional)
Top of with usually grapefruit soda but this pineapple soda hits the spot.

    F**k You I'm drunk.....

I just did a tasting of Teeling, Tullamore Dew and Proper Twelve. Teelings had an unexpected bite to it, but was good. Tullamore was just as smooth as can be, probably a bit bland for most Irish whiskey drinkers, and Proper had a strangeness to the taste that was a little off-putting. Probably save that one for after I've gotten a buzz off of something I like better.

I always have a bottle of Tully around.

I'm currently enjoying a dram of Green Spot.

My go to is Bushmills for Irish. Haven't tried many others.

Bushmill's is good, especially the black. Tulamore Dew, Jameson, and Bushmill's are all right there in the same price range for Irish whiskey and all are quite drinkable.

I grabbed the Green Spot as I've never ventured much beyond mid shelf Irish and wanted to try something a little more top shelf. I's really nice. Almost too smooth though.

    Whiskey question:
Does whiskey stop aging once it leaves the barrel? Will a bottle of ten year whiskey still be ten year whiskey ten years from now?

Yes. Once out of the barrel, it is what it is.

It stops aging. Some people add wood (oak) spires to the bottle to continue the aging somewhat and flavor the whiskey with the flavors from the wood.

Whiskey doesn't age in the bottle. In fact, it's quite inert. Assuming it's properly stored, whiskey won't change much itself in the bottle. What change it does see has to do with oxygen exposure, light exposure, and temperature fluctuations—and all of these things are generally bad for it.

Does tequila still age if the worm is in the bottle

Tequila doesn't expire if left unopened, like the other shelf-stable spirits. But tequila can go bad. Once opened, tequila should be enjoyed within a year.

Correct. The biggest thing to affect whiskey in bottle is oxygen.

The worm in the bottle thing was a novelty added in the 50's. It's usually mezcal that has the worm.

BTW all tequila is mezcal but not all mezcal is tequila.

😂 I threw a party in high school. A buddy split a bottle of tequila with me, never got sick but I didn’t touch the stuff again for 20 years.

When we were in high school Gena and I were at a party and she told everyone I could drink anyone under the table with whiskey. I did, I puked my guts out and when she finally got me in my house she put me in the bathroom with my head on the toilet seat and left. Had not had any up until about a year ago. Think it’s about party time again

Would love to sip some whiskey with ya.
