Propylene Glycol
I used to always use propylene glycol and distilled water in my humidor, but after I received my new humidor I started only using propylene glycol to mumidify my cigars. Did put myself in great danger doing this?

I can only speak for myself but I only use the solution that comes in Boveda packs.

I don't know why you would be concerned. I fill my beads with both. Depends on what is closer to where I'm sitting at the time.

I may be wrong but I thinks he is saying that he used it 100% and it is supposed to be mixed 50/50 with distilled water.
It has to be safe or it wouldn’t be used even at half strength but it may affect the taste of the cigars. I tried some years ago and thought it gave the sticks a plastic taste.

it is also used as a carrier for flavoring in aromatic pipe tobacco, it is hygroscopic which is why aromatic pipe tobacco rarely dries out. I hate smoking the stuff. As a conditioner for humidors I would imagine if it was not mixed with water it would draw moisture from the ambient air and cigars. So it would be wise to recondition your humidor with plain distilled water.

I use 65s in ziplocs. 69s in my wooden humidor.
