For the most part I find Peterson pipes to be clunky. As for finish, if the grain is not attractive I prefer a good sandblast or well done rustication, they can burn cooler due to the increased surface area. (And I have way, way too many pipes!!!!, and even more tobacco that I will never smoke, just in case Rusty isn't being paranoid; need a 10 or 20 lbs of flake tobacco?).

Trying out KBV Tavern Bar on the frozen meat slicer. I adjusted it a bit to fine maybe, just shavings, but it's smoking great this way so maybe it's a good setting. Also trying out / showing off some items I picked up a Daiso, I believe a triangular ramekin which holds a pipe pretty well and they have all sorts of bamboo trays, this one would work well under the meat slicer. Smoking in a Norm Triptow pipe.

3P's (Peterson Perfect Plug) in my 2023 Peterson - St. Patrick's Day 2023 Rusticated (264) Fishtail. This frozen meat slicer is working great on hard plugs. Got it pretty much dialed in for thin flakes now.
I'm really enjoying this, my son gave me a piece of strong salted licorice from Norway beforehand and it really brings out the licorice notes in this plug.

A curved guillotine designed as a frozen meat slicer for hot pot.
It came with a replacement blade and can be resharpened and has an adjustable guide to set the thickness of your flakes. This was a dry crumble cake so no flakes.
