A closer look at the Stanwell POTY 2024. I've smoked a couple bowls in it so far, W.O. Larsen 1864 this morning, and it is an amazingly well behaved pipe! Over my buyers remorse already.

SG 1792 and Mac Baren Stockton for my commute. My RNA Treasures unfinished pipe shown in my Scotte pipe bag. I folded the 1792 flake in thirds and stuffed the spun cut Stockton in the folds and around the flake and shoved it in my pipe for a good smoke on the ride home.

Pinch of McConnell's Red Virginia
1/2 pinch of Izmir Turkish
Another pinch of Byzantium
1/2 pinch each of Lane Ltd. BCA and McClelland's Latakia
mixed well
Load into Stanwell POTY 2024 and came out rather well.

I think I overdid the BCA a little. I'm debating whether to add a little more Latakia to what's left, or just wait until the next time. Probably wait. The BCA can be overpowering.

Too Cavendish-y? Need more smokey, spicy sweetness? Go for it! 1/4 pinch less BCA and equal measure more Latakia! Yum

Edit: then press it for a week! 🎉
Sounds right.

Emptied the shake from a tin of SPC Hogshead into my Savinelli 619 EX Hercules panel pipe to smoke in the garage while roasting coffee this morning, starting with the last of the Philippines Batangas Liberica shown here. I guess that makes the horse Pegasus. This coffee is interesting and unusual and can take on a meaty flavor depending on the roast, it's not your normal arabica or Robusta coffee species. The prep on this is not great so I'll be pulling out green coffee defects before I roast. It also takes a much lower drop-in temp that all my other coffee. Defects include green coffee seeds still in some parchment, the hulling machine didn't do a great job on this lot which has a really mixed screen size from tiny to normal and even large seeds.

Like @Yakster, in the garage with Ahab's Comfort and the 999 Jekyll and Hyde now. A 601 black for later. Not roasting but sewing magnets on my travel pouch.
