So, for quite a while I haven't been able to create new folders on my laptop using Windows Explorer. I've had to use the mkdir command from the cmd or powershell to create the folder which is a PITA. I upgraded to Windows 11 recently and still have the same problem, but tonight I finally found the answer, a registry key solved it.
Replaced the rollers on a patio screen because they were not rolling while smoking the XO. Great flavor in this one, paired with silicone spray lube, almost as nice as WD-40.
Last night, as we finished preparing a dinner of Poor Man's Lobster, sweet potato rounds, and home-grown broccolini, a high pitched alarm sounded in the kitchen. It wasn't the smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, or anything else obvious, but I finally figured out it was my flood sensor under the kitchen sink. I'd poured the hot water from boiling the frozen tilapia for Poor Man's Lobster down the sink and it had flooded the undercabinet. I spent hours today tearing apart my garbage disposal plumbing and sink flángé and re-applying the plumbers putty on the flángé to prevent further leaks, along with a bit of cleaning. I was looking for a replacement flángé as mine still says Sears Kenmore on it and I'd started to strip the three screws trying to remove the flángé before I found the retaining ring, but I ended up reusing the old flángé. As I surveyed my work I noticed a brand new Moen flángé in the pile of things I pulled out from under the sink that I could have used.
Job done, I'm really glad I picked up the Flood Buzz Pro sensors, they're not wireless or smart or anything, but they do send out a high pitched tone when they detect water along with a fitted Xtreme Mats Waterproof Under Sink Mat which protects the wood from flooding.

Going to a wedding tomorrow. Have to hit the highway at 7:30am. 129 miles each way. Not looking forward to the drive there but less thrilled about the ride home after a couple drinks.

Lol, Shawn. An AA witticism I remember from my time there trying to sober up is " the first drink is too many, the second drink is not enough". I envy the folks that can stop at one or two.

I moved some monitors/TVs around and put an old TV out on the back patio with an old, unused Roku Express and a BT Speaker. The Roku Express is old enough that it doesn't support the Peacock channel, luckily most other channels wor, albeit I'm noticing a lot of buffering on YouTube today.
I have an Xfinity streaming box in the garage that would work if I could find the remote.

Basically I changed the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\default key value to "Folder" and restarted the computer now it works fine.
Good work! Any idea how the problem occurred in the first place?

No idea, the value of that was some sort of image reference instead of folder.
That would have driven me crazy. I create a lot of new folders. What made you think of checking it out in re-edit? @Yakster

I'd been searching the Internet for solutions on and off for quite a while, I finally found the specific right answer.
Since you create new folders frequently, here's a keyboard shortcut: Simultaneously press Ctrl + Shift + N keys to create a new folder.
I'll try to remember that one. Thanks.

Good! I never succeeded in developing the self-control to do that. I would intend to....

Didn't end up drinking at the wedding. Was holding my 9mo old granddaughter half the time. Way better than drinking.
