My wife's bicycle accident is turning into a saga.
I have a very low opinion of the ER at Penn State Lancaster Medical Center. First, they did not clean or dress any of her several skin wounds. Second, while the CAT scan showed no brain injury, our PCP later diagnosed her with a mild concussion. The attending ER PA, according to my wife's report (which may be suspect due to her concussion), did not physically examine her. She can't recall him touching her at all, just ordering the tests. And third, they did not see the crack in her fibula, which the orthopedic PA at the emergency orthopedic clinic saw today, after her pain, swelling, and bruising continued to worsen all week.
She is now wearing an air boot, which is dramatically helping the pain, and allowing her to get around more effectively. It would have been nice to know it was broken a week ago.
