I know it's short notice. I really wish I had thought of it myself sooner, but I will have the time off so, if anybody can manage it this year during that time frame I stated, even as a much smaller herf, let me know. We can book a smaller airbnb and make it happen.
Leisurely solo paddle up the East Fork Stones River yesterday. Very peaceful, very quiet, except for the Fem Riders gang that had taken over my beach, wouldn't shut up and took forever to leave.

I volunteered as "kayak support" for swimmers in the first leg of a triathlon. We stationed ourselves around the course and kept the swimmers on course and provided a helping hand if they were fatigued and needed a rest, we would let them hold onto the bow of our kayaks to catch their breath and/or reorient themselves to the proper course to proceed. Turns out there were at least half a dozen that rested on my kayak. More than I expected. I learned that amateur triathletes are often not as prepared for the swim portion, compared to the running and biking. I was impressed by their efforts, nonetheless. I saw a post on one of my kayak friend's FB page, asking for kayak volunteers and I was curious and interested and it turned out to be the most fun I've had since the MKE herf. Got a t-shirt, a few warm beers and lunch for my efforts, and the biggest effort was getting out of bed at 3:00AM to make it there by the designated time. Turns out I could have slept an extra hour by my calculations. LOL But it was my first time, and I really enjoyed it. I'll probably look for more marathons to volunteer for.
I took a few short videos but cannot figure out how to load them. Oh well. Here's a youtube video of last years event that accurately captures the vibe I experienced. Also there was an event photographer who took pics of me after he asked me to look up as I was prepping the kayaks. Maybe I'll make the cut. LOL https://youtu.be/FAOyx9JlyzM?si=S98qmSH6_jTFELqq
I only brought one, but another volunteer brought hers and I had sold her that one from my collection. Kinda want it back.
That kayak was photogenic. vvvvvvvvv

I'll stay back and guard the cabin while yins kayak.
This looks better. More beds, more baths.
I am free June 21st through July 7th if anybody is serious about doing it then. Not sure if I could schedule any time for it the rest of the year.

Also nearby, Fancher's falls.
Video warning: Loud noise after intro music. (Dragging the kayak) There's no dialog anyway. Just mute the whole thing.

My Wife is thinking about it, if we're open for bringing wives.
This year is shot for me also. Great idea.

I keep checking back in here to see if anyone has in fact used a body as a kayak. I'm not impressed fellas.
I got one gals number, but she drove a Subaru. Not sure if I made any progress at all.

That looks like a great time, even if you aren't in it.
@Bob_Luken were all those your kayaks?
