Just to clarify for non-gun people. No problem hitting the range and going thru over 500 rounds of pistol ammo in an afternoon. .22s come in bricks of 1,000 or buckets of 5,000. While I can’t comment on this story, 1,000 rounds is not a stockpile, it’s less than what you may take to the range for an afternoon.

I buy all ammo by the 500 or 1000. Cheaper that way. Plus, it pisses off the hoplophobes.
