Forum May Be Down for a Short Time - Please Read

Hello Everyone!

I'm hopping back on here quickly just to let you all know that the Forum may be unavailable for anywhere from 48 - 72 hours eff. Tuesday, 14 October 2025. The current CIGAR.com Team will be working with VanillaX to make updates to the experience.

As some of you may recall from previous conversations, the old Forum theme has actually been sunset by VanillaX, so in order to keep things up and running, some thematic changes need to take place. Before I departed CIGAR.com I had previewed the closest new theme to what you're all used to and I can assure you the changes are minimal at best. There will be proper testing of everything so in theory every feature will function as intended before access is restored.

    We have a dusty, old backup site on Discord you could use, though it's been dormant a while and not fully built out. You can access it on the web on your computer or through the app from your computer or phone.

    I joined this just incase something does happen to the forums. Why don't we use Discord over this? I mean I don't really use discord much anyways but it seems to me it can serve just about the same purpose and honestly probably a little more user friendly and future proof?

    I don't really like discord that much, but it does work. It's more real-time communications and stuff gets lost easily, buried under a bunch of new messages, but it'll work for a backup.

    I also don't figure that it will get widespread adoption from most of our forum members.

    Mostly because here were all on an even playing field. None of us are moderators or administrators no matter how much some act like it. Discord is a different story.

    Changes don’t seem to be too bad. The quoting and a few other things are more streamlined. My opinion, they did right by us. They obviously had to make changes for upkeep but kept everything as close as possible to the way it was.
