from Semafor, this assessment. Basically, they got nothin'. If they win in the mid-terms we will likely have more of the same muddled angst. Follow the money, quell the angry, the wealthy and corporate interests will still prevail.
"Democrats are eager to run a midterm campaign that’s all about affordability — but despite Trump’s challenges, polls show that if they want to persuade voters who don’t like his handling of the economy, they still have some work to do. So, how do they win over that bloc? The answer isn’t simple, and it almost certainly doesn’t lie in more specific policy prescriptions, Semafor’s Elana Schor and Burgess Everett reported. It’s not that the party has zero details for what it would do differently, but those suggestions have been more thematic than in-depth. Or, in the words of Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, Democrats are trying to avoid “internal disagreements” over hypothetical policy without becoming “a total blank slate.” He added wryly: “A midterm message that has historically been viable is, ‘Have you had enough of this sh*t yet?’”"

Whatever the trend of the day is, they're for it, until it's not. Then manufacture a new issue/trend of the day. Usually these have little or nothing to do with running the country.

What's up with silver? I have a dog in this fight since I have to buy silver to stay in business. High demand for the stuff from the digital world coupled with investor safe haven flight and a weakened dollar seem to be the canary in the coal mine. 2026 will be "interesting" no matter what the gov't says. As Clinton said "it's the economy, stupid." I fear the only way out is for a resort to war.

U.S. to build "Trump-class" warships for "Golden Fleet"

"They'll be the fastest, the biggest, and by far 100 times more powerful than any battleship ever built," Trump said.
Concept art depicts something reminiscent of a cruiser. It has at least one laser weapon aboard and is capable of launching missiles. A helicopter hovers overhead. And an image of Trump raising his fist is emblazoned on the back.https://www.axios.com/2025/12/22/trump-navy-golden-fleet-battleships

Renee Good caused her own death by her actions. She could have prevented it by not driving at another person.

Imagine for a moment that she was running over one of your grandkids, and you had a loaded weapon. You'd probably think to yourself "Well, she's running over them very slowly, no need to shoot. Maybe I should just call 911."
Or, maybe she should have just got out of the car, like the officer asked her to do while her wife was making threats. That's probably what I would have done.
I have to wonder, since the last time that same officer was in nearly the exact same position he got dragged down the road for more than 50 feet as the vehicle picked up speed, and he ended up with a couple dozen stitches, did that memory trigger his response?

When you look at the list of thugs they have arrested and the crimes they have committed you would think these folks would get out of the way and let them do their job. No wonder they hide out in sanctuary jurisdictions.

Should have cost her her life, no...but sometimes the consequences of one's actions are more than what's expected.
ETA: It is a mis-characterization to call what she and her partner were doing protesting. They were parking their vehicle across a roadway in order to prevent Federal Law Enforcement officers from proceeding down that road, with the purpose of hindering the officers from making arrests. That is a crime.

Protesters stand on the sidewalk holding signs and chanting stupid slogans. She was not protesting. She was hindering federal agents conducting raids to catch criminals. She basically committed "Blue suicide". Her own damned fault. Sorry, not sorry.

So her actions should have resulted in her death? Got it.

Whether she intentionally drove her car at the officer, or not, she did drive it toward him and did hit him, after being told several times to get out of the vehicle. This is indisputable according to all the video evidence. Saying "**** You" to a teacher is not Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The example you are looking for is Student Picks up Metal Chair and Assaults Teacher.

Like @Wylaff said and I’ll add 5 MPH in the space of 5 feet should have cost her her life?? Wow. Or…. He didn’t shoot her to death, gets the plates and she’s arrested, charged and sees her day in court… are you against our legal system? He was clearly clear of the front of the vehicle.
If it was a family member or friend would you feel the same way?
