Agreed, I learned it in JH and HS but didn’t use the skill any afterwards so probably not the best choice for giving advice but luckily my dad has continued to weld throughout his life

It's crazy how over the last 6 months I've become friends with a fine group of people that I can recognize by their hand and the way they hold a cigar but could walk right past(not everybody) and not even know it...…. I probably need to join the Herf more often.

Chris @Yakster , I gotta tell ya, you are a freakin' genius! I got a new laptop yesterday, and set it up tonight, synced and transferred my settings, bookmarks etc, blah, blah, blah. No issues really, except I logged onto the forum and BAM, It went to the bottom of the page and stayed there. The Javascript didn't transfer. So, I looked up the thread, downloaded Run Javascript, copied and pasted your program and I'm back in business, Baby! Kudos!

Surgery went well! Will be laid up until March 2 when stitches get removed! If pain is gone, no rotator cuff surgery! If pain continues, we’ll reassess!

As an ex- pipe smoker I miss the smell of cigars that fill a room. As a kid our family doctor smoked cigars in his examining room, the lingering odor mixing with the ever-present alcohol vapers. It is one of my earliest olfactory memories. Pipe smokers often talk about a blend's room note but rarely do cigar smokers. Why is that? Anyway, since I only smoke outside am I missing something or do cigars just stink?

I can rarely smell my own unless I hold it away from me and smell the smoke coming off of the foot. Sometimes I’ll tear a nub apart in the ashtray and let it smolder just for the smell.
As far as a pipe goes, I’ve found that if non-smokers like the room note I usually don’t like the taste and vice versa.
If it don’t bother me, it don’t bother me. Just leave me alone.

Cigars can really stink up a room, the butts are the worst. I usually smoke outside so it's not an issue, but sometimes the smell from the ashtray full of butts gets to me. I smoke in the garage when I'm roasting coffee, I used to smoke in the garage more often but my chiweenie kinda goes crazy when I'm in the garage and I can't trust her not to run away with the garage door open enough to let the smoke out. The smoking in the garage leaves it smelling not great, but I put the butts in a Pringles can and it's not too bad.

I love the smell of cigar smoke. Sometimes I get into my truck and smell it the next day. Makes me want another.

I like to go back in the shop after smoking a pipe just for the smell....Can't say the same for a cigar.
Can't wait till warmer weather so I can smoke more cigars and no lingering smells.1 -
I'm in Houston for the moment. Found a nice shop/lounge this evening. Smelled wonderful! Couldn't stay, though, was a member's lounge. 😒
