Just think about this, Edward. Only 291 short days until Christmas 🎄.I knew it was a mistake to put that Christmas tree back up on the shelf this weekend, but the Wife was complaining that it was getting in the way laying on the floor of the garage in the box.

I'm taking advantage of this brief warm-up. Yesterday, I warshed my car and swept out my garage. Today, I warshed 3 loads of clothes/towels/bedding, and hung them on my line.
Edit: spelling for those east of me, so they'll know what I'm talking about.

The first grilled ones were okay. Marinated a few more slices in a honey, hot sauce, salt and butter mix overnight. Came out much better. Chopped them up with a fresh jalapeño. Should be good, I hope.

They do that on purpose. Listening to her makes the dental work seem less painful by virtue of comparison.

Spent 5 hours hauling, cutting, splitting, and stacking fallen trees in the yard post-blizzard. Now I am spent, too. Next up a trip to the post office and Walgreens to fill a couple of prescriptions.

Couldn’t figure out why I was in constant excruciating pain when sitting and standing. Well……..Torn lower back muscles that connect to the hip/pelvis are slightly torn and separated from back pelvis…there goes my competition.

Jumped up a large Whitetail at the start of my morning hike. Figured he was the dominate buck in these woods. At the end of my hike as I was climbing Heart Attack hill I saw three more.

Deployed umbrellas for the garden and set up my solar panels in the back yard to recharge the power bank I used to roast coffee on Saturday. This didn't work well at all this winter because the fence and trees were blocking the low angled sun, but now I'm back in business, baby.

Almost made it to 50 without a root canal. Broke a tooth 15 ish years ago and the filling finally failed. Today, that tooth lost its nerve.

Working on a small dairy farm to help a young man out. Dairy farming and jail seem to have a lot in common, you have to be there No matter what. So happy he is doing better, for him and for selfish reasons.

"cavil". I have never seen or heard anyone use this word. Useful word nonetheless.
To “cavil” is to engage in an argument that borders on bad faith. It may be an argument made in good faith, but over trivialities or petty concerns few others take seriously. In the 17th century, Dr. Samuel Johnson defined the verb as “raising frivolous objections.” Unfortunately, frivolity is in the mind of the speaker; often a person who chooses to cavil feels they are making a significant argument concerning a subject of importance to them. Caviling ultimately results in an argument that few but the person making it believe is worth their time or trouble.

I remembered the Rocky and Bullwinkle series about the metal-munching mice and had to look it up. Wow, where has creativity gone? This show was prescient.

Cavil may or may not be a useful word, but I wouldn't quibble about it.

Quibble has a sort of appropriate silliness about it.
