Morning all, having trouble with the enter and backspace keys on this old computer, I have to select mistakes to clear them, can I safely pull the keycaps off to clean things? Lots of stress getting the shop ready to open,. Dissident Home 2021 to kick start the day.

Depends on keyboard but most likely yes. It is a Mac maybe not though

Thanks. It is a high end but 7 year old Lenovo Thinkpad Chromebook. I will try prying off a key I rarely use first. The odd thing is that it is an intermittent issue, they don't work most of the time.

My wife had that problem, ended up using an external keyboard.

They make keycap pullers, done people not these to make WDT tools for espresso prep.

You have to be careful with the laptops. Some of them have delicate hardware underneath that can snap off. Best to Google it for the Lenovo and see what it says. But yes, you can definitely take them off and vacuum out underneath them and all of that other stuff.

For PC keyboards, you can hang them up in the shower, cover the USB end with a plastic baggie and a rubber band, I just hose those fuccers out.

Spacebars can be tricky, might want to avoid pulling that one up if you can. You probably have some jewelers tools that can help you pry up the key caps.
