Every six weeks or so, I make the 8mi. trip to Woodman's to do the bulk of my grocery shopping. Since I used my last tortilla for my nightly burrito yesterday, today was slotted to be the day for Woodman's.

In between my two cups of coffee, I stepped outside to water my pepper plants and do a bit of weeding around them. 5min of that was enough to tell me I'm staying indoors. The stinkin' wildfire smoke is bad enough that I was feeling winded and out of breath. Yuck. Maybe a nice big bowl of popcorn will be dinner tonight.

when you do get out in the big world pick up a few N95 face masks. https://nymag.com/strategist/article/best-face-masks-for-smoke.html You are likely in the path of more to come.

Yeah it definitely is. They’re two to three dollars a pound more if they slice them for you. It just amazes me how many people won’t buy the whole ones simply because they don’t want to use a knife.

Got a look at the boy's naked leg today. Gross. This is the splint. One rod going sideways through his ankle and two sticking out of the leg.
Goes in for the second (and hopefully final) surgery a week from monday.

Man, that sucks so bad for him. I hope he has a speedy recovery. Damn.

Found out I have a kidney stone today. Yay me. 😐

sorry to hear that @Hawks. Is your doctor suggesting lithotrypsy? Passing a stone is also not fun. Been there, done that.

Thanks, Edward. No, the stone is 4 mm and I didn't feel it until it made it to the end of the ureter. Doc said it could pass into the bladder in the next 24 to 48 hours. Operative word being "could." This is my second one. The other was 18 years ago. I had been eating Tums and Rolaids like candy. I've since switched to baking soda for an antacid.

The last foreseeable hurdle to our Florida move has been cleared! My wife accepted a job offer at Cleveland Clinic in Stuart, with a 15% increase above her current salary. I just have to say, God is good all the time!
