Sorry fellas, it's just time.

I'm quitting cigars. Bunch of different reasons, mostly having to do with my lack of enjoying them anymore. It's more of a just a habit than anything else. Not really a hobby.

The cost a shitload of money. I don't even want to calculate how much I've spent on cigars over the last 8 and 1/2 years lol. It's not $10,000. It's tens of thousands of dollars easy haha. Easy come easy go.

The money didn't go to waste. I literally have 211 cigars left in my collection. It's not even much of a collection. Half a box of 20th, a couple of monsters, some placencia and some El mago. I actually found a rocky Patel cargo, which was the first box I ever bought. Fuçking 8 and 1/2 years ago bro lol.

Not just the cost though. My old lady doesn't like it. Of course, she might not be sticking around much longer anyways, which is another part of it. If she does stick around, I told her I'd quit. If she doesn't, I could Probably could use the money for things like security deposits on two-bedroom apartments. That's not a done deal but I can see the clouds on the horizon.

Also starting a new job in October, so going to save up some dough so I can do all the things I need to do for that.

Been smoking things that people have given me that I wanted to smoke. In no particular order, thank you for the avowed smokes and the yellow cake, Edward. A little mild for my leather tongue nowadays, but after taking a little break, I got a lot of flavor out of those things. Sherm, I finished off the rest of the tats you sent me. Exquisite. Thank you. Rusty, I finally got around to smoking that lfd powerhouse you sent me. Really good. Thank you brother. I finished all of the Cubans from poker slob Tom. Rest in peace brother. Charles, I smoked A la historia in the last couple of weeks. Your turn! Jeffrey, I had one aladino left. Smoked it four nights ago. Thanks brother. If you're ever in Vegas, I'll still get together with you. Rodger, I smoked an unbanded cigar from you that was a giant rain gauge. Thumbed through your book while I did it. Thanks dude. Chris, had the Dondurma two mornings ago. It went really well with my pot of coffee. Keep wardening! John, I finally smoked one of those Victor sinclairs. You're a true çocksuçker. And a damn good friend. Thank you for the laugh! Patrick, if you're still out there somewhere, know what you're going through man. Except she talked me buying her $100,000 sheepskin before she left haha. Also Except I don't have a room full of cigars. She ain't getting them. If she wants them she can dig them out of the ashtray. I smoked one of those viaje crafts that you hated and I loved. You're still wrong about it. Almost got through the rest of the box of the Winston Churchill late hours. There might be one or two left. Thanks for finding for me it's such a great price. Peter, I finished off the last of my particulares. They weren't as good as the first time I had had them. I don't know if they went past prime or if my sense is dulled from 30,000 cigars on my pallet. Either way, I sure did enjoy it thinking about clogging the toilet at your house a couple of years ago. I also enjoyed your company greatly. Wade, I got to say man. I didn't smoke that fuçking ogre. Couldn't bring myself to do it. If I was going to have a last cigar, I didn't want it to last until next week. I'll pay it forward though brother. Thank you. Glenn, you never sent me anything because you're a cheap ass son of a ****. I'm just kidding brother. You once sent me, a long time ago, a really nice blue label underground. 2 weeks ago it went down. It was lovely with a very loose draw. Thank you Homie. Tyler, whatever cigars you think you owe me, which isn't anything, send them to somebody else. I hear Rusty's running low. Keep trying to hit him straight. Oceanfront backwoods, that doesn't apply to you, çocksuçker. You owe me a fuçking fiver and you have my address. Northside Frankie, I finished the last of the EZs that you sent me. I forgot how much I like those **** things. Far North 64 Dan, you sent me a sanitano Connecticut that was about as long as my , never mind. It was long though. It was beat up. I smoked it a week ago in the middle of 113° day. Despite all of its bumps and bruises, it was true. Thank you friend. I hope wherever you are you're doing okay. Glock 1975 Jeremy, thanks for the old smokes man I really enjoyed them. Especially the black labels because James Brown still knew how to fuçking roll them back then. Wayne, I smoked that big **** la galera that you sent me about a month ago. If there's any cigar that's worth 60 bucks, that is one of the closest. I went through all of those satoris also. Loved every single one of them through the years. I still have your lighter and I'll still get it to you. Hit me up when you or Carol are in town. It's tucked away with the rest of my lighters which are tucked away nice and safely. Tennessee Paul, I finally smoked, after 6 years or more, the man in the hat cigar that you sent me. I wish I would have smoked it before when I was enjoying smoking. Thank you for your friendship and thank you for the copious, copious, copious conversations. Alaska Paul, you guys didn't tell me, but I think it was you behind the Gurkha glasses. My wife still uses those things. Thanks for the laughs, thanks for the smokes, thanks for your friendship. Brian, if you ever have another herf in Visalia, let me know. You have my number. Roman, you've given me some of the best cigars you've ever smoked. I really enjoyed the leaf and libations thing that you started. I'm out for next quarter brother. And the rest of the quarters. Tell Travis I said hey. Calvin, I watched a WNBA game while smoking a La dueña. It didn't deserve to come in last. Gena red dog, I hated your forum name. I always saw it in my mind as genera dog. You and your wife are lovely people though. Charlie heiss, my brother in Padron, I smoked one in your honor last Friday. The last padron Friday. It was a 90th that I got from a nice old man in a cigar shop. Thought of you and that big comfy chair well I smoked it. Ernie, you're one of the nicest people I've ever met. I loved your contest because it was brilliant, raw, and honest. I hated it because a BDL won one time. Bunch of dog pallets on this forum. My favorite memory from that was my Black label color project coming in last during the same contest where I think Pete's 20 minute Tom finished in the top three.

My post was 10,000 characters too long. So I had to break it up. If anyone was going to break the forum with too long of a post, it was going to be me LOL

For the guys no longer on here, some of whom we know why and some of whom we don't, thank you for the smokes and the friendship. Chris kenpoknight was my newbie sponsor and he treated me right.Tony zero patience was a total cs, but I miss him. He was real. The guy who liked to play fantasy sports, I forget his name, sent me some really nice smokes for no reason one time. Bunch of Ezra Zion. You chuckleheads can say what you want about Ezra, but they're good smokes. Heavyset rapier was awesome to hang out with. I hope you're doing okay buddy. Hope you are still enjoying the le caremes. Expendable youth Geoff, you know any good lawyers in Vegas LOL? Say hey to your brother sometime for me too. Kuzi, your rules blow. Maybe they were okay 15 years ago when you wrote them though. Harrison, don't know where you are, but if you actually are reading this from a prison computer in cell block D, sorry you got a wrong deal man. Thanks for the box split on the monsters. Jimmy, I know you'll be back when you want to sell more of those freaking Connecticut valley reserves. Cut these guys a break and sell them cheap. Shizza, I didn't smoke anything from you in the last 2 months because I always smoked your **** right away. You have a magic freaking humidor bro. It could make a dog **** taste like a padron. I remember saying to myself, this is the best cigar I ever smoked, four different times when I had a shiza stick in my hand. Un fuçking paralleled. The lou crew was evaporating as I got here. Bunch of nice guys though.

Although JLMarta passed, he sent me a real nice Burr grinder that I still use today. Rip Marry. Rip to raider Mike too. Sorry that the covid got you buddy. At least you went out unafraid. I honestly can't say that I didn't shed a tear for you. Love you. Jd was such a ball breaker, but I still miss him. Sometimes. I wonder if he ever smoked all of those hammer and sickles that I sent him? LOL. I hope you enjoyed them buddy. I heard that Brett might have died. Never finished that clock humidor. I would have liked to have seen that, Even though he kind of flamed out at the end. I forget the name of the guy who rolled his own smokes but he was a freaking artist and I miss seeing what he created.

Every community has its goofs. Krieg, everybody in the world knows that you didn't fuçking put a urethane coat on that American cedar humidor you built. We all know that you like to smell too much. Fuçk everybody bro, you do you. I'm just not doing any trades with you. Archie, I never got to know you. Thank God. Ian and Ross, if you ever have a problem with Pete, you have a problem with me. I'm 50 years old and obese with neuropathy. I don't feel pain. Dbeckom, you're not just a douúche. You're a used one. I forget the name of that crazy cat that Glenn brought on the forum the one time. Was it Mike Williams? The guy that flamed completely out. Of course Glenn would have brought him. Who else? Jeremy, quit drinking and quit celebrating Hitler's birthday. Both are stupid and both are bad for your health.

Scratch and sniff, I have a special place in my brain for you. It's where my fuçking migraines come from. You have to be one of the biggest pieces of shít I've ever seen in my life. I have never met in all of my time such a complete poser. You're more fake than Kim Kardashian's rack. I may be fat, I may be old, but I can still grow hair on the top of my head. Eat that, along with a big piece of shít.

Still too long. I've gone off the deep end lol.

To all the guys from the other places who wandered on in, Ryan and Robbie and Robert and even that piece of shít Adam Williams, glad I got to know you. Adam, glad I got to unknow you. No regrets. Sherm, it's up to you to take care of the big girl from England now. She likes the blondes.

Steve, I finally finished off that box of encores you sent me. Blew me away that you would send me a box of cigars when I was a stranger. I still can't bring myself to light a cigar until I find my nubber. We may have disagreed on a number of topics, But it never mattered when we both had a smoke in our hand. Thank you for the fonsecas, thank you for the recipes, and thanks for making that delicious butter chicken in Milwaukee a couple of years ago. I'm sure your wife did most of the work.

Rusty and Sherm, the inseparable fuçkers. Sherm was always getting a haircut every time there was a herf. Never got to meet you bro. Would have liked to have played a round with you, but you gave up golf like I gave up cigars. Maybe one day? You got to give me like five a side tgough. Rusty, ChatRDP, thank you for finally ruining all of those damn contests that nobody wanted to win. Thank you for never picking boogie nights every time I said it. I learned a lot from you bro. You're one of the smartest dudes I've ever met. Despite you being from one of the bluest states in the Union, I'm still not 100% on your politics. Thank you for that also. Fuçk the Bengals bro, but go bucs.

Patrick, There's something that I've wanted to tell you for a couple of years. Fuçk you for leaving me in Milwaukee when I had a plane to catch. Now that I got that out of the way, you should know that I'm over it. I was over it 5 minutes after you drove away LOL. I know your wife at the time was a little, um, off balance. LOL. She bolted with the SUV and you were stuck. I actually took it as a badge of honor that you came to me and asked me to not get in the car for which there was no room. I felt like you either liked me the least, or knew that I would help you out. I choose to think the latter. Either way man, I miss you. I would have bought more cigars from you, but I was in the middle of spending a hundred grand out of my checking account for a phd. No hard feelings, I love you man.

John, your laugh is infectious. So is your dry sense of humor. Thanks for making the coffee in Chicago and Milwaukee. You always left me wanting more. I really enjoyed spending time with you in person and on the zoom call. Every time you log on, you glance at the names. Sometimes you, “cool" and sometimes you say, “shít." Every time I saw your name, I said cool. You have a great, even-keeled perspective on life. It's an inspiration.

Peter, I mentioned you before but it's worth mentioning again. You're one of the best friends I've had. Thanks for opening your home to a bunch of drunk idiots, and to me also. Thanks for loaning me the power cord to your CPAP. Thanks for driving me to the airport. Thanks for teaching me about coffee and cigars. Thanks for all the million things you did and ways you showed what a good person you are. Tell the big man upstairs I'm sorry about swearing so much. They say a person who uses the f word a lot has a small vocabulary. They've never met me. I just like the word. I'll miss the collage of cigar box lids behind your chair.

Glenn, I've spent most of this time breaking your balls, and for good reason.I like smashing small things. Seriously though, you're a really good friend. Gentle giant. Your wife is a lovely person. I think we can all agree that you're outkicking the coverage on that one. Thank you for your friendship brother. Keep the door open so Buddy can come in and out as he pleases. I'm not going to tell you whether or not I said cool or shít when I saw your name. I think you know, though. Love you man.

Bob, I hadn't seen you on the herf for a number of months. I hope you're doing great. For anyone who thinks Bob is a prïck on the forum, you are sometimes correct. But, he's the nicest guy in the world in person. Thanks for driving me back to Chicago when I was completely stuck and had a plane to catch. I only regret that Glenn was in the truck too. It remains to this day one of the nicest things that anyone has ever done for me, and I will never forget it. I'll probably never get the chance to or have the ability to repay you. Thank you, friend. May the wind be still and your nose be clear for 45 minutes the next time you want to light a cigar.

Close to last and close to least, Old Nick B. You're literally one of the last ones because you're literally one of the last ones I thought of. Air Force brother. Now your son is too. I know you're freaking proud of him. I always respected a man who could hold his liquor, and you are that man. You're a true freaking bro. I took the sakasquatch off of my shelf today and packed it away with the rest of my cigar things. Thanks for all of the great great black labels and dunbartons. Thanks for all of the shítty black labels and Dunbartons also. Thanks for downloading your romacraft. Don't lie. You still buy them. Politics aside.

Last and absolutely not the least. Vision Pete. You came back just shortly after I joined. Thanks for the dozens and dozens of cigars that you gave to me over the years. I smoked every one of them, even those **** perdomos you gave me in Vegas a few weeks ago. They were all really good. I don't know if it was because they were from you or because I was drunk, or both. I still stand by everything I've ever said about perdomo, save those 5 smokes. Thank you for the advice on all of the electronics and appliances. Still using those noise canceling headphones. Dishwasher is a dream. TVs work good. But that's just the small stuff man. Thank you for the big stuff. Thank you for being there when life was kicking me in the freaking onions. Thanks for the laughs. Thanks for pulling me back up. Sitting there on the phone at midnight your time when you had to work in the morning meant a lot to me. Listening to me cry like a little girl meant the world to me man. You may not have said much, but I didn't need to hear much. Thanks for knowing that. Thanks for the phone calls and the texts. Thanks for being a true friend. Those calls and texts may have been little things, but the little things are always the biggest things. Don't I know. You are one of the best friends I've ever had, if not the best. If you're ever in trouble, all you got to do is call and I'll drive that Dodge across the country to whip someone's as$ for you. Yes, the Dodge will make it there. You have a beautiful family. Hold on to them tight. I met your wife Liz for about 45 seconds in person, and I know that she's a wonderful person. Mason is such a bright kid. He's lucky to have parents like you guys. Wish I did. I love you like a brother, truly. No actually I hate my brother. I love you way more than that sack of shít.

I once wrote a parody on the forum to the rhythm of the night before Christmas. I mentioned a bunch of guys, and the few that I missed took offense. Now here I am writing this. I knew I should have written this down as I was gone because I know there are people that I forgot. It just didn't come to me while I was writing this. I definitely didn't and won't forget you, even if your names escape me at the moment. No offense. Or hell, take offense. What do I care?

This isn't a suiçide note or anything stupid, so I don't need 500 texts tonight, guys. If I was going to write one of those, it would be to my wife, and it would say, “I'm leaving everything that I own to my mother because she's a fuçking çunt and she hates you. She'll never give you a dime. Have fun.” Instead, I would say that once my shitshow of a life kind of evens out a little bit, I'll get back on the zoom call and hang out with you guys, probably without the smoke. But I don't know that to be true man. I didn't want to be one of the dozens or hundreds that just disappeared off the face of the forum without a trace. Let's just call this post a “just in case" note.

It's been real. It's been fun. It's been real fun. Love a bunch of you like brothers. Hate a bunch of you others like brothers also. That's what makes this place great. I've never seen a community argue like cats and dogs about a fat old man in Washington and then break bread from across the country on the same day. I don't know if it exists anywhere else.

Anyways, here's hoping that I come back. Here's hoping that my wife comes back too. Here's hoping for one of the two. Either way, it's fine 😂.

One for the road. Down to 210. Thought I'd make it a good one. It's pretty good. But just pretty good nowadays. Which is why I'm quitting.

    Signing off…

I'll miss you too, Frank. Although, you seem to have forgotten me. Perhaps it was intentional? Perhaps I just missed it, that was the longest post I've ever seen. I enjoyed our back and forth and your willingness to adhere to argument within the conflnes of logic and reality. I hope things work out for you in whatever comes next.

Life can feel incredibly heavy at times, and sometimes stepping away is simply part of taking care of yourself and finding your footing again. Just remember that even the darkest night eventually gives way to morning, and the sun has a way of rising whether we can see it coming or not. It has genuinely been a pleasure getting to know you, Frank. I hope whatever comes next brings you some peace, clarity, and lighter days ahead.
