    I've made somewhat of an effort to let people know my name, the whole experience feels a bit more personal, or at least less distant, when on a name to name basis.

    For any who don't know, my name is Joe. It's really no great stretch of the imagination looking at my screen name.

    I thought about using John Cocktostone (it's Scotch-Romanian)... But my name is just Joe. For some reason, when people refer to me, they generally either call me Doody or Dude, or they spit out my whole name as one word (Joeduty).

    my name is jim/jimmy/james. I dont really care which. some how it worked out that I go by james at work, and jimmy with all my freinds, it causes confusion when the two meet lol.

    I know exactly what you mean. At work I go by Joe and to new people I meet it's Joe, but to people who are closer and know me a bit better I'm Joey... and that confuses some people, leading them to ask me "well which is it?"
