i gave up Cigars for lent...

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Made you look. Seriously though, I gave up cursing, its about the only thing I do more than smoke cigars. Anyone else give anything up?

    Got me! Actually, alcohol. I'm not Catholic, but, I find that by the end of winter my tolerance for alcohol is creeping upward, kind of a good chance to re-set. I don't usually make it for the whole period, but hey, I'm only human.

    I've been trying to give up cursing too. I started about, let's see, my son is 3 and a half years old....3 and a half years ago. I'm getting better, but the s word is the tough one. It's such an all purpose word.

    I'm not catholic either, I'm actualy episcopal. Pretty much the same thing, but we can hold our liquor and don't believe in the pope's devinaty(sp). I'm actually a member of a baptist church out where I live, and used to go to an EpiMethaBaptiCostal church... Long story. I've been working on cursing for the last five years and then the last two, after my middle daughter was born, I've gotten much worse. Figured it was time to fix that habbit.

    I've been baptized Catholic, Charismatic and Baptist - it's a miracle I'm not in the loony bin. The only thing I gave up was trying to figure it out.

    Ken kind of beat me to it----but I was going to say I gave up religion. 18 years in a catholic school and it took me about 6 months to achieve the "age of reason" as I call it. Blashpemous I know to some, but it is what it is.

    But as an aside I will be having a local fellow in a penguin suit place cigar ashes on my forehead later tonight before dinner...and I will say the open the lips, through the gums, look out tummy, here it comes prayer.

    I have a friend that is half Jew half Catholic. Safe to say he has "guilt" issues with just about everything he does.

    With 5 kids I gotta learn to stop or at least not slip up at home. Its not going well so far though.

    Good one. I gave up really good drink for great cigars...and when my humidors are full, I give up great cigars for great drink!! its a neverending cycle of love and hate!!!lol.
