Arturo Fuente Short Story MADURO!

zeebrazeebra Posts: 3,174 ✭✭✭
Just got them in the mail along with some AF 858 Sungrown. Will get some more up in a bit.

Of Course I have some cigar porn....

1000 boxes of these were shown at the show in Vegas few weeks back. And if you were a vendor, in order to get one box of the Short Story Maduros, you had to purchase 20 boxes of AF products.

These were a very rare cigar, until now, but 25,000 in circulation now...

I really need to get some of those AF maddys, SS and 858. Other things were already purchased this month so I will watch and wait.

Very nice. I would love to get my hands on some but I dont think I'll be jumping through any hoops since I'm stocked up on other hemi maduros. Let us know how they smoke.

If you are forced to get rid of those maddys let me know. There may be a good home for them somewhere.

The regular Short Story is fantastic! AF makes one hell of a great Cameroon wrapper! Curious about the Maddy though...

I absolutly love the cameroon and maduro hemi. I'm a complete maduro guy but I really can't decide which one I like more. Oh, the sungrown is pretty great too.

I've had the 858 Maduro and the Chateau Maduro and loved em both...but I have yet to have anything in the Hemmingway series, Cam or Mad! Guess I'm gonna have to get busy and catch up!

Those look like 858 Sungrowns to me. I don't think the 858 Maduro has a cedar sleeve or foot ribbon. Also, the regular release 858's (which the maduro is one of) have the regular green band. Black band is for Sungrown, Hemis, and DCs.

I think I need to type up a guide to Fuente packaging, since it is so friggin' complicated to ID their stuff sometimes lol.

Yep those are sungrowns. I like the way fuente keeps things simple in band design but I wish they would maybe use some small script to label each stick with maduro or cameroon, etc. Like the Anejo has

    ask and you shall receive:
Reserva has green on the bottom of the band
Sungrown is black on the botom of the band with a black ribbon
Shade grown is green on the botom of the band with a green ribbon
Anejo has a cream bottom and a red band and also says anejo
Don Carlos has black on the botom of the band and no ribbon
the hemmingway is the only one that is confusing. it has the same set up as the Don Carlos, but they are all a perfecto vitola of various sizes.

    ...im here for you

The worst is telling the hemi sungrown (not rosado) from the maddy. Both are very similar shade.

Yeah, but then you get into small release stuff, like the Rosados, which have green bands, and red foot ribbons, with cedar.

Okay, okay, do my own homework even if the box has maduro engrave on it. Making me think my B&M is getting over on me. Sungrown or Rosado is fine with me. I'm going to ask some questions tomorrow.

Hey, if you paid 858 Maduro prices (4-5$) for 858 SG's (seen them got for more like 10$ usually), then you got a good deal! But those are definitely 858 Sungrowns.

Now I'm really trippin, because I got them for $7 each. Trust me, I will say something to them.
