The Las Vegas event, held May 24-25, allows athletes to use drugs approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under medical supervision. Armstrong won the men’s 50-meter backstroke in 24.21 seconds and earned $250,000, then took silver in the 100-meter freestyle without using PEDs.
Greece’s Kristian Gkolomeev earned $1.25 million after posting an unofficial world record of 20.81 seconds in the men’s 50-meter freestyle.
