Retrohaling is when you blow the smoke out your nose. I always blow part out the nose and part out of the mouth. Some people have a hard time learning how to do it without inhaling. I got a buddy still can't do it after years of cigar smoking. But you do pick up different taste thru the nose than just using the mouth.johnnyB said:

Check out a show (or the book) called Your Inner Fish. Hiccups are a leftover from when we used to "breath" water. Very cool info there.
I occasionally get the hiccups during a cigar also. Try smoking slower. More time between draws. I tend to smoke way too quickly. Savor the flavors and aromas.
Friends don't let good friends smoke cheap cigars.2
