How often should you have to recharge heartfelt beads in the winter?
So I've been using these for about three weeks now. I have had to recharge them about once a week. Is that normal in the winter,it's very dry out here. I have two medium tubes in a 30 count glass top humidor. Over the past week I've had tape over the seal of the glass,didn't make much of a difference. The humidor is basically full, maby enough room for a few robustos. It hasn't gotten under 60%rh so I know I shouldn't freak out.

You should never have to recharge the beads. The beads are for control of moisture in the air. You should use a humidifier to put the moisture into your humidor.
Look at it this way - the beads are to remove excess moisture from the air and release it back into the air when the situation requires it. If the beads are saturated with water they can't remove any excess from the air.
Leave your beads dry and place a humidifier of some sort into your humidor. I personally use a small custard cup with about 1/4 inch of distilled water in it placed in my humidor.

When beads are dry they are white, when holding moisture the are clear. As far as how often.. that just depends on the environment and situation. I run 2 mediums in my truck cooler. 1 I charge fully the other I only charge half. This allows the rest to soak up what moisture the beads haven't absorbed. Seems to work fine5

It sounds to me like you need to reseason your humidor. If the beads are drying out that fast, I would imagine the humidor itself is sucking out all the moisture. However, if the problem is the seal, then just convert to plastic now and save yourself the headache.LLA - Lancero Lovers of America6

Hey @johnnyB can you stop by Beehive, just off 3rd west and about 1800 south? They carry Boveda and a bunch of quality stix.
Go grab 4 of their 60 gram 69 rh Bovedas and pop two in your humi after you re season (check out YouTube on how to re season). IIRC they sell them for $4/each

I use beads in my winedor and from time to time will pull them out shuffle them around a bit and then give them a few spritzes of distilled water.
Life is too short to smoke bad cigars!!!

During the winter in my singles/daily smoke cooler I have to spritz probably once a month. In the summer I make it 3-4 months.Team O'Donnell FTW!

So I want to thank everyone for the great feedback. I'll try to reseason, And go from there. I've been thinking of going plastic but I'm going to have to keep my humidor up and running. Seeing that it was a Christmas gift from the wife and kids. Don't want them to get all butt hurt. Wish they would have ordered one from c.com instead of going to the B&M for what they spent could have gotten one 3or4 times the size and probably some cigars as well.

So the story continues,after reseasoning my humidor and tryin again it seems to still be losing humidity fast. Checked all seal their not the best.after following all the advice from the BOTL on this forum got some plastic. This is what blows my mind, call local tinder box which is where the humi came from and I take it back 2 months later,left with a new one that already seems to have a better seel. Could not believe it.
