Should all wrappings be removed before placing cigars in humidor? A friend has told me it does not matter. I'm new at storing so please tell me.

Welcome to the forum, I'd keep them on for protection, but it really doesn't matter to the cigar.

If the cigar will be in some sort of moist environment, you've better off having the protection, so that you can still smoke it afterward, like most of us do.

Crusty is better than moldy for sure, brought my humi downstairs because it's starting to heat up in the closet I kept it in, outside wall, southern exposure.
I'll gladly bomb you Tuesday for an Opus today.
