    So my son learned a little about being native american.
    He wanted to send the information to the reservation and Indian Health for his daughter.
    He called me and said that he read that they would want his information (tribal numbers), mine and his grandfather's.
    I told him that they didn't need the tribal numbers, just our names.

    I had to explain to him that while you are your own person, you are my son and my father's grandson. It is all about lineage and bloodline.
    When presented, it presented as this child is daughter of this person, grand-daughter of that person. 
    She is my great-grand-mother's, great-great-great grand-daughter.
    That is how she is seen. 

    He is seeing a new part of it and is getting a bit of an education. LOL!
