Pacific storm

This thing is picking up speed. Blowing the hell out of everything. Power is out, as usual
Dumping tons of water everywhere.
Supposed to hammer us until sunday night.
What a pain.
I'm on call all weekend.
If the storm picks up to 80-90 mph winds like they are calling for, I may get called in.
On the bright side, I get $240 for on call for the weekend and any overtime.
The worse it gets, the more likely I get called in.

Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.

Kind of early for a winter storm isn't it Tony, stay safe and cash in on the cha-chingA little dirt never hurt0

Really early.
Usually mid November.
If this is any indication of what this winter will be like, it's gonna suck.
Storms for me, mean more work and while I don't mind the work, I do mind 30" trees coming down around me.
And when the wind is howling like crazy, it's dark and you can't tell where the crack sound of the tree is coming from, it's rather unnerving.
But at the same time, it's a hell of an adrenaline rush.

Stay safe. Keep your head up, your eyes open and your feet dry,Tony. My brother, who lives on Camano Island, said it was likely to be a nasty one.0

Yeah this thing is the leftovers of some typhoon from a week or so ago in the pacific islands area. Portland got nailed with rain but the real stuff isn't supposed to hit till today/tonight. Stay safe out there on the coast. hopefully it isn't as brutal as they expect it to be.Life is like a blind fiver. You never know what you're gonna get.0

I woke up to 70 mph winds this morning. It's crazy out there."Cooking isn't about struggling; It's about pleasure. It's like sǝx, with a wider variety of sauces."
At any given time the urge to sing "In The Jungle" is just a whim away... A whim away... A whim away...0 -

This storm is starting out rough. Flooding, lightning, high winds and a tornado hit one of the little towns south of us.
Out on the ocean, there are 20-30' swells. It's possible we will see a 7' storm surge on the beaches.

Yeah I heard about the twister in Manzanita. THATS INSANE!!!!! Tillamook isn't looking much better. tornado warnings for most of the day. Didn't know how bad the swells are though! I would love to be out there to see the storm.... wouldn't want to have to drive out there though.Life is like a blind fiver. You never know what you're gonna get.0

This evening we had a lull in the storm. I got home around 5:30, ate dinner and promptly fell asleep for a couple hours. It's been a very long time since I did that.

Here is the news on the tornado.
2 small businesses were wiped out. Luckily, the tornado hit before the stores were open.
It's fortunate that while it wiped out some buildings, there were minimal injuries and it was quite small.
Had it it a few hours later, it could have been devastating. In Fumo Pax
