    Let's see...

You republicans don't believe the economic numbers because Obama fixed it.
You blame Obama for Isis when Bush created the vacumn by getting rid of the stabilizing dictator in the region.
You don't believe in global warming
You don't believe guns kill people.
Trump doesn't believe in his national intelligence  directors.
You believe the media is biased.
You believe in building the economy top down.
But....you believe in God. Which there is no proof of, and all scientific data shows we have evolved.

    Great political party right there

The media is biased, a blind person can see that. Guns dont kill people, people kill people. Actually Obama created Isis when he pulled out too early after his generals told him it would happen. Obamas economic numbers... lets see. Over 9 trillion higher in debt, more people on welfare than ever before, a gross median income down over 3000 per household, a smaller middle class then ever. Highest insurance costs ever. Then lets see how he did socially. Well violent crime has sky rocketed in inner cities. His home city is worse then Beirut. They have the strictest gun laws in the u.s. but some how think more gun laws will help. Most importantly i believe in the Constitution. I beleive in smaller government. I believe corporations shouldnt get welfare or bailouts. I believe in drug tests before welfare. I believe that its funny how the left wants the right to be sympthetic to their beliefs but not reciprocate. I believe obama was anti law enforcement and perpetuated a hate for cops. Lets see what else....

I've heard this before so I need to ask,....Is it generally accepted by some people that if you believe in God that you must surely reject evolution?  I believe in God and evolution. I self-identify as a conservative but that doesn't mean I'll fit a pre-judged one-size-fits-all view that someone may have of me because of that.

So, he's labelled, thus can be ignored?

Although, good point, "liberal" is commonly believed to mean socialist these days.  Funny how so many Americans hate "liberal", the philosophy their country was founded on.

Some are too blinded by hate to ever give in.  Their hate armor is impervious to small arms like facts, truth, justice.

I believe that hate is a sin, and as the Bible says, man is drawn to sin as surely as the flames fly upwards.

I also believe that when one dwells on sin, one is consumed by it.  First the mind, then the soul.

I tried to show some respect for someone who has served his country, and done a much better job at it than I thought he might.  The proof of that is all around us, undeniable.  I did the best I could at it, and do not regret my position.

However, it's time for me to stop, lest I too be consumed by the hate we see displayed above.

There is a spirit about this site that attracts us.  I've seen many come and go.  Things usually settle down, if we let them.

Oh, and no, it wasn't 'great then' and 'sucks now'.

Had to throw that in for @Bob_Luken , who doesn't suck either.

    :)

I think hate is too strong of a word, Steve.  Disagreeing with the direction one sees a POTUS taking the nation, disliking his poliices and/or even disliking him, isn't the same as hate.  That's not to say there aren't some who hate B.O.  But (and I'm not accusing you of this) calling the opposition haters has become the nuclear defense; it puts the opposition in the lowest possible position, and shuts down any discussion.

Since you're the one who started the thread, in the interests of dialogue, I'd be interested to hear you expand on your statement above that B.O. did a better job than you thought he would; where did you think he'd fail, and where do you think he succeeded?

If he would tell the rioter and looters that what they are doing is criminal and stop supporting thugs i would respect him.  Maybe something like:  The election is over, Mr Trump is the legally elected President of our Republic. Now give him a chance to unite our country, if he takes actions you do not agree with, utulize legal means to show your disagreement. Breaking windows, burning cars, and throwing rocks at police is illegal. STOP or you will be arrested and prosecuted.  You people at attempted to break windows of that bank, you could have legally been shot dead for your efforts,  STOP
anything along those lines would get much respect

He is gone, get over it. Time to start pulling together and looking to the future. Trump is President whether you like it or not.
A lot of us, especially his 2nd election, voted against obama. His first election we said to wait and see, give him a chance.
    Give Trump the same chance.
  • Chuck_NChuck_N Posts: 1,088 ✭✭✭
Trump is the President. It is his job to unite this country now.
I have not heard one uniting word out of his mouth.
Obama gave a message of hope. Trump gives us a message of hate and fear.
    I'll take hope.

Where did Obama suceed. Top of my head these come to mind.

    He got Bin Laden
    We are now energy independent
    Gas prices are low
    Clean energy.
He bailed out the banks and made them pay it back unlike Bush.
He bailed out GM and restructured it and it is now thriving.
He bought Citi bank and the government has profited on that bailout.
We ended a cluster **** war that by the way Trump supported ending the same way.
He saved countless American lives and tax dollars by bringing our troops home.
He was the 2nd highest job creating president behind Clinton.
He saved the world from economic destruction after 8 years of Republican rule.
He passed immigration reform thru on his own even though if it was brought to the floor it would have passed but the speaker of the house obstructed it from coming to the floor.
Health care reform. It was not perfect but it has a chance to be improved on. By the way, every president in modern history has wanted to reform health care. OBAMA did it.
He was a great role model and so was Michelle. No scandals, no groping.
The Republican platform was to block and obstruct from day 1 in office.
Obama had a 64 percent approval rating when leaving office in spite of them.
Bush left with an approval rating in the 20s with a disaster of a presidency.

I for one will not even address this again here. Some just regurgitate what the liberal media feeds them. Right now the media is on TV finding fault with everything against trump.
Please verify the quoted things above before accepting them as fact.
I will take the time to speak of one.
More jobs:  it is easy to make the numbers look good when you drop people from the list when their unemployment insurance ends. Makes it look good but when you look further there are more people on welfare and homeless than ever

Interesting that he left with a 64% approval rating. I wonder if it was the same polls that had clinton winning by 5% right before election night. Also interesting that you say there was no scandals. While he didnt insert a cigar into a female in the oval office he definitely had his share of scandals. Unless you think selling firearms to the mexican cartels not a scandal. Or leaving Americans unprtected in Bengazi. Or the fact that 40 something of his 70 something of his inspector generals complained over lack of transparency. Listen, you can spout statistics all you want to try and prove your point but in the end he failed. He will leave no legacy other than letting 1700 + felons out of prison early. Just agree to disagree. Im not changing your mind and your not changing mine. Thats whats great about this country. If trump fails we get to boot his ass in 4 years. Just like Obama should have been booted after his first 4 years.

The jobs created and employed people numbers are pure bullshit.  Those numbers do not take into account how many lost their unemployment benefits and still could not/ can not find a job.  Those people, don't exist, because, hey it would **** up the "positive" "productive" president numbers.

Also polls are bullshit too.  Fake made up "news" only call people in California, New York, and Chicago, bam super high approval rating.  He did however get one thing right, and that's is for insurance company's to not deny coverage for preexisting illness.

OK, quit watching Fox news and pick up the Wall Street Journal.
If you haven't noticed the Dow Jones Index  has nearly tripled under Obama.

I very much agree with you there fox is the worst.  I do read the wall street journal as well as the New York Times, and a couple local papers too, but the "news" reporting in general is getting worse

By the way the polls were not far off.
Clinton did win the popular vote by like 3 percent.
I was not a Hillary fan by the way. I liked Jeb, but hate his brother.

Well ****, finally something you said that made me smile. The Hillary part that is. Jeb was a good governor but his campaign never gained traction. He was a dud. I supported and voted for Cruz but never in my mind did i consider voting for Hillary.

Politics is like cigars, to each his own. Is anybody right? I don't watch news so can't comment on the networks but only on my own personal experience. Through 40 years of work experience, work was never hard to find, a phone call away so to speak, recession or not. Since 2008, work is harder to find, not blaming anyone, good jobs are not there. Healthcare is available but having to choose between eating and healthcare i had to let it lapse.

You guys can decide who to blame, I respect Mr. Obama for the work he did, it is way to early to talk about his legacy, his impact on my life I would have to say was negative.
