Just an update the humi is still running really good it is staying around 65 to 66 temp and 67 to 68 RH it does make a little noise but not bad as I am not in there but to sleep and then I have a fan on and don't hear it lol2

Hey Arch72, how is the Newair doing?Logistics cannot win a war, but its absence or inadequacy can cause defeat. FM100-50

It is doing really good I was having a little trouble with my cigars not staying lit so I checked the digital hygrometer and took a 65% bov and the hygrometer and put them in a ziplock to see how off they were and they were off my 2 to 3 % so I was told to try and take a few of the bov out and see what the RH% was. So now I have the hygrometer set right and have had them in the humi for 12 hours and it only has 6 bov in there and the RH% is 65% to 66%.1

Hey Arch got some quick questions for you about your CC-300. My 281E are getting sent back they were real easy to work with already got the prepaid shipment labels.
What is the thickness of the wood for the drawers are they 1/4" or 3/8" thick?
Same with the shelfs are they 3/8" thick or other?
When your cooler shuts off due to power outage or being unplugged, what temperature does it start at when being plugged back in or power comes back on?
I'm hoping it stays the 60's and doesn't go automatically to 54 degrees like most of the wine coolers.
Thanks Arch! I'm going to pull the trigger on two CC-300's if everything checks out good.If you quote me do the @TX98Z28 in your text or I won't be notified of your quote, Thanks.0 -
Ok I took measurements and the shelves look like this the thin part made up of two slats is 3/8 inch thick and the front is 1/2 thick and the draws are all 1/4 inch thick as for the temp when the elec. goes out I will do some testing for you tonight and let you know

I really appreciate it man! Looks like there is going to be plenty of spanish cedar, I wish the drawers were 3/8" but 1/4" will do fine, making sure there wasn't any 3/16" wood thats would warp easily for the drawers. Thicker spanish cedar absorbs more water, more humidity for the cooler. I got plenty of 65% Heartfelt beads and Boveda so will be good.
I'm very curious to see what the cooler restarts at when unplugged and plugged back in (same as power going out) hopefully it's in the 60's.If you quote me do the @TX98Z28 in your text or I won't be notified of your quote, Thanks.0 -
@arch72, NewAir might have fixed the problem of it not going back to the temperature you set it at. Both the 281E's I have would go to there lowest setting when plugged back in instead of honoring my 66 degree setting, good for wine not for cigars. And my 32 bottle new air aw-321ed would go to 62 degrees instead of the 66 degree setting I selected also, good for cigars not so much for wine. They do some weird stuff. I'm very curious if the CC-300 honors your setting of temp or if it automatically resets to a different temperature say 60 or 65, hopefully doesn't reset in the 50's.

@arch72, man my computer gliched out on me missed your last two post before mine went through.
64 is awesome, perfect! Seems NewAir really did design these CC-300 coolers especially for cigars.
Part of the reason I'm so concerned about the temp is when going out of town and the cooler plugged in there could be a power outage/storm and it resets to an unfavorable temperature resulting in excessive power consumption. If you quote me do the @TX98Z28 in your text or I won't be notified of your quote, Thanks.0 -
Yeah it works great I have about 100 cigars in there and only have 5 65% bov in it and it is staying around 64 to 65 RH1
