Wow, these little ones are firecrackers compared to the larger vitolas. I'm thinking these need a nap. Much more oomph in this little package compared to the larger, not as balanced. Can barely retrohale, Not your typical Cameroon that lulls you in, in a predictable manner. Throat slapper and nostril stinger.

He's got some good ones, like the one you got there and the Serie Privida Maduro, plus a few others, that can be found dirt cheap. A lot of folks wrote him off since he did make a lot of meh blends but that leaves the good stuff available for super cheap. Some deals I've seen lately are practically giving them away.

Getting nothing but goodness here Frank. Not sure what happened with the one(s) you got but mine are tasting right as rain. Burn is a bit off but I'll chalk that up to long transit, no rest, and a rather large vain near the upper label that I can feel through the wrapper and is making the draw a little tighter than I prefer.

^^^^ See the ones I got look nothing like that, oily rich and dark on the wrapper. Mine are super light, dry, and look like the inside of a liquor store shopping bag. I must have gotten a bad batch.

AJ Fernandez Bellas Artes Gordo Habano. First for me after finding the maduro version not in my wheelhouse. Great start so far.
I'm finding these to be a bit too mild and one dimensional for me. It's a tasty blend to be sure and there is some leather and spice on the retro that I dig but it's missing that wow factor I've come to expect from AJ blends. The large size probably isn't helping either and may be washing away some of spirit of the wrapper but overall I'll probably add this to my morning cigar rotation. Not satisfying enough for a after dinner cigar.
