was definitely a cool idea! Was fun to participate. I wish I could remember which sticks I threw in the extra bag for you, lol. Been so long ago. I am definitely in for next time as well.
So I went and talked to the post office here on base and found out that just by going to me these sticks are going to get some crazy miles. Stryker will be sending them to me from Hawaii to me in the Middle East, while this will get some miles anyway, they will be getting even more. Instead of heading west to get to me, they will have to be sent to JFK, New York, then to me. Yeah they will be getting easily double the miles they should.

Whoa, that's like 3/4 of the globe in one direction. I'll be excited to see those miles.
Woohoo. Got the mileage pass today, now I just have to return it ljl for the final leg of the trip. The box was pretty messed up and I think one of the Pillows may have exploded because a bunch of the sticks were sticking together. Luckily they are in there cello. I will repackage them and get them sent out in the next few days.

.. a testimonial to the often asked question " cello on or off ".

Awesome! Seems like there may have been some damage on the leg before Welder too. I think this may be the result of a charged pillow freezing and thawing again pretty fast. At least there's still something left (lol)! Thanks a ton fellas - really looking forward to this showing up on the doorstep!!!
Alright, finally got a minute. So here's what happened. Back when I posted the totals I still had a few stops to hit. One in Hawaii, one in Iraq. I knew that would take some time. Glad to say two days ago, this bad boy came back! I figured the pass to head west from Hawaii, USPS was apparently not so hot on that idea, it went back east - to New York, then on to Iraq!!. So now old Pioneer Valley (originally left my place on 5/14/10) is back. It has 37042 miles on it! A few other sticks are up in the 35k+ range as well. Unreal!!!
That's the good news, the slightly bad news is that when you take a trip with your friends that far, not everyone makes it home in the best shape. Somewhere between me and Hawaii (and again between Hawaii and Iraq) there were some issues. Apparently, I over charged some humi pillows and payed dearly for it. I will try to have some pics up in the next few days.
Thanks again to everyone on the pass. I owe you all big! Hmm, that gets me thinking...
