Good morning everyone! After a week off cigars for packing, traveling, and recouping from the seizures caused by all the commotion I’m finally smoking a cigar so it’s all good now.
First up...my long awaited 601 White Label Connecticut. This one is basically right off the truck since I got it 2 days before flying back to Istanbul...I just got around to opening the box yesterday, so it has had zero rest in the humidor. It has the peppery profile that I was looking for, and the creaminess from the wrapper, and something that I just can’t put my finger on. I will wait a few weeks before I revisit them, but I can see myself grabbing a couple more boxes to hide away for a long nap

Good morning everyone! Today I’m revisiting the 601 Snakebite gordo. I normally do not go for the larger ring cigars, but this is one of my exceptions. It’s been in the humidor for 14 months and I’m impressed. They were good fresh, but a little nap time has really smoothed the flavors out. With a name like “Snakebite” you would expect a spicy nicotine bomb, but I’d put it at medium bodied. Now I’m wishing I had gotten more at the price I paid for these. I’m excited to try the smaller sizes.

Padilla Miami from March 2010 Toro with a very yellow cello. I haven’t smoked one of these in 6+ years and I must say that these flavor bombs do not lose much strength with almost 10 years. Upon first light the pepper blast cleared my sinuses. At the end of the first third there’s still plenty of pepper, with a strong coffee note. As it’s almost 3pm and I haven’t eaten since 9am, the nicotine hit is already hitting me.
