Im saying you're silly for assuming that he might happen to know Paul because they are both airplane mechanics. I don't assume you know Paul blart because you both have something to do with security. I'm sorry for blowing up.
This is the funniest beef I've seen today (yesterday's was a tie between me/Bob, me/Ian, and mystery person/Ian's sweatshirt pockets)

I think the funniest was the mystery person not liking my house coat pockets. Wait a minute...it hasn't been six days, Frank! What the heIl are you doing?

That's what I thought, too, but @CalvinAndHobo straightened me out on that. So, I guess that me and @VegasFrank are going to go and split a side of beef for supper now, anyone else?

Hi everyone. Newbie here, 6 months into this hobby at 56 yrs old. My best friend for the last 40 years passed away in the springtime. We talked about smoking cigars since we were in our teens (actually tried at 20 with White owls and cheap cognac, lol! I don't have to tell you how bad that was!!) As life is, with careers, family, etc, we never got around to doing it right, just talking about it. When he passed, I was left some of his possessions that he wanted me to have. Those being a Dupont lighter, various cigar cutters and accessories. I decided to take those items and use them as a way to spend time with my friend now that he is gone. I have been totally enjoying this journey and really appreciate how generous every enthusiast I have met has been with information and guidance. I stumbled across this forum and am looking forward to continuing this ride.
Glad you found it @Teoracer. This sickness…uhh I mean hobby has significant meanings for a lot of us. Poke around in here, get your feet wet and jump in the vherf with us sometime to get to know everyone. You’ll find a thread marked for it with all the info you need.

Heck Yeah We're Protected Class!
One of the first things you learn in the military is that you never mess with the cooks, your supply sergeant, or your mechanic. Protected class, protects your azz.

Good afternoon, and Happy New Year, gentlemen. My name is Todd, and I am in central Pennsylvania. I am a pretty new to cigars and smoking, just starting in May of 2022, after a very rough stretch of time in the prior year. I have found cigar smoking to be very relaxing (duh, right?), and helpful in taking my mind off of events. Smoking a cigar seems to help in focusing on being in the moment, and enjoying the now.
I have read a lot of threads here, and also read up on cigar etiquette, reviews, etc. I am not able yet to determine different, unique flavors or tastes of each cigar, nor even what I really like just yet, but hopefully that will come along with time and experience. Some of my favorites so far are: Ave Maria Immaculata, Perdomo 10th Anniversary Reserve, Oliva Serie O and G, and Melanio, Alec Bradley Black Market in several varieties, Torana Casa Torano, Macanudo Cafe, and Rocky Patel ITC Reserve, to name a few.
I also like firearms, freedom, and bicycling. I'm looking forward to participating here, and maybe joining some V-Herfs, instead of smoking alone on my deck or enclosed porch (in winter). Thanks for having me.
Welcome to the forum @TRayB make yourself at home here. Post and comment and get on the vherf some night around 7:30pm CST there is usually someone on. Todd I hope you have a Happy New Year.

Haha come on lighten up
Don't understand your post dude. It's a little personal to me to be falsely accused of racism. Going to assume you are kidding.

No need to apologize, Jim. It was obvious you meant it as a joke in reference to the air plane mechanic thing.

And don't do what I did--buy a lot of cheap cigars that I thought I would smoke in the future only to find I liked some other smokes much better.
