Bought some of these from a page but this one is courtesy of the good folks over at Hiland's Cigars in AZ. They were nice enough to send me a complimentary three cigar sampler of some of AJ's new blends since an item I ordered was out of stock. This is my first one of these but I've read good things about this blend.
Interesting:
Is that blood?
Nah, glue residue pulled some color from the over lapping band.

Wow! Four months and four days later, these have really balanced out. They were almost harshly strong when I first got them. The pepper was over the top. Could barely retrohale the ending exhale. Still plenty of pepper left but much more balanced. Definitely needs to be smoked slower for maximum flavor. Prone to overheating easily is its biggest downside. Great flavors otherwise. Got two boxes left that are going on a deep sleep. Will be interesting to see how it evolves.
These are coming along nicely. Lighter side of medium but full of flavor. Not your typical sun grown wrapper flavors. A lot of sweetnes and richness without any oomph you typically expect from a sun grown wrapped blend. Very smooth. They are super oily and were burning wonky when I first got them. Resting time seems to have helped the burn characteristics along. Nice change of pace cigar.
Funny thing is, I was just going to snag a box of that brand that I found on closeout but decided not to after reading some positive reviews. Further research indicated that a lot of people had issues with construction and burn. Sounds like I dodged a bullet.
I've gotten burned before on whole boxes and large buys. Bought a whole box of Room 101 Conjura (or something like that) and the whole dam box was plugged. I even aged them for 8 years, hoping that as they aged and shrank (as all well aged cigars do), they'd eventually be smokable. Nope. Had to pitch them along with about 30 Cain cigars of different varieties. I was mad as heck and swore off both brands after that.. 🤣.
This is not right off the truck. Last part of a five-pack that I bought a few months ago.

The box is half gone and this was the first one to misbehave.
This could be cross-posted in that Cigar Palate thread; if this was the only I tried of the Senor Esugars I would never try another. But I like them overall. As an aside, I'm also happy that I'm along the cigar-smoker path far enough that if it sucks I'm not going to fight with it, it's getting pitched.
Funny story. I was in one of the shops that I go to all the time and the very nice shop owner was trying to sell me some stuff. That's cool. I ended up buying some Rockys and a couple of other things, along with this stick.
He knows that I like the Padron stuff, so he says, "this cigar is More like the padron than any other cigar, other than padron."
I told him that I am not looking to smoke stuff that is like padron. I am looking to smoke Padron. Besides, this stick was 8.75, and a 3000 around here is about 9 bucks. So I'm not really saving any money. I bought it anyways to be nice to the guy.
Funny part of the story is that it's kind of like a padron. No, seriously, if I were drunk and had numb lips and hands and couldn't feel the wrapper and my palate was shot for the day, I might think, hey I'm glad I picked up a padron. It's at least as close as anything I've ever had to one without having one.

I've seen some cigars like that, the Conny is for the burn and the other wrapper is for the mouthfeel / taste.

Hoyo by AJ.
Enjoying this Olica MB3 courtesy of @ShawnOL
Had a Davidoff Escuro short robusto from @Shaner9er. Really good and lasted longer than you'd expect for a 3.5 inch stick.
Thanks Shane
Don't let the wife know what you spend on guns, ammo or cigars.

That DogRocKet got pitched; good draw but didn't want to stay lit- got hot and mushy.
So it's on to this beauty from @TheKraken.
Next up.

Happy belated birthday Vegas Frank!
@peter4jc hope it was good. I'm going have to pick up another box

Good afternoon everyone! Cult Ometpe Robusto! Nice!
First try with the Master blends. Smells delicious and tastes great
Good cigar from Phillip @N0tRichard . Thanks, buddy.
Trapped in the People's Communist Republic of Massachusetts.
Cheers all hope you had a great weekend!
Love your pics

A little Romeo No. 2 that someone bombed me when I landed on this forum, some 3+ years ago. Maybe Stubble or the beer-loving Mr. Hops? Anyway, thanks!
Nice to see you around!
Thank you. It’s still close to 100 here in AZ and I can’t imagine living here without a pool. 😅
