Yeah that was a year or two ago I am trying to go pro on the bass circuit. I used spinners a lot but bait casters are a lot less stress on you casting and retrieving, it really pays off!

I definitely see your point. My brother thinks similar to you. He nearly always uses bait casters when he has A choice.
Here's how I prefer to spend my evenings... (of course, my cigar is laying within reach)
My youngest daughter LOVES to fish. How many 15 year old girls would prefer to spend the day on the lake with her daddy?
Our lil sister also loves to fish... Here's her first largemouth, caught in Oct 2009
And here's her second!!!

We had A terrible day on the water Thursday afternoon. It rained the entire time and I could not keep my lures dry no matter what I tried. I even tried using An umbrella but as soon as I cast the rain wet the lure over and over.
Any ideas on how to keep lures dry in the rain?
I recently returned from a 5 day trip into the mountains of Colorado.
Caught some brookies.
Caught some browns.
Caught some rainbows too.
No cigars were smoked unfortunately. Fire bans throughout the state made smoking outside of your vehicle illegal. I'm not going to just sit in the car when I can be outside taking in the scenery.

I just got back from a long Labor Day weekend in the mountains. Good times were had, fish were caught, drinks drank, and a few stogies smoked. Being a wee Irishman myself, I can confirm that at the end of the rainbow...
there is in fact a pot of gold.
We did a nice hike up to a lake around 11250 ft elevation.
Had to have a smoke break while there.
Then we came back down to a more reasonable elevation and continued the fishing.
Of course they were. They were all colored up and ready to spawn. Not too many big fish where we were, but they are plentiful. I rarely keep fish, especially this time of year.

I have trouble with bait casters due to An electrocution on my left side when I was A young man so I will have to stick to spinners.
Nice.
Sometimes you never know what your going to catch.
Is that a soft shelled turtle or a snapping turtle?

Soft shell.
Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.
Sure it's big but is it good eating?
Nice.

I would literally kill to fish there!
