Question re: JFK cigar and matchbook
Hi Guys,
I'm hoping some of you can help me with a cigar and matchbook I've had for several years. I cannot find any information on these anywhere, so hopefully I'm in the right place.
Long story short, these were given to me by my grandmother in 1991 after my grandfather passed away (they were given to my grandfather by his close friend who was an executive in the Secret Service from the '50s to the '70s). I've attached links to pictures I took today- there is scotch tape residue right below the label around the wrapper on the cigar.
I was in the neighbor's house when I was younger, and he had mementos from former presidents in his home (several paintings by Eisenhower-- I had no idea Eisenhower painted, but whatever).
Basically, I"m wondering if there were a ton of these made and this is essentially worthless, or if this is something more than that. This is my first post in this forum, but this is not a troll post or anything of the sort. I'll be happy to answer any questions if there are any. Thanks for your time.

these may very well be the "official" cigar of JFK after the embargo. but it is either post embargo or they are machine made. either way that lowers the value.
JFK liked H. Uppmans and this is not that cigar. that and the cellophane (a non cuban trait in hand made cigars) leads me to believe that it is post embargo. if by some off chance it is not post embargo, the cellophane would give it away as a machine made because cuban cigars have no cello unless they are machine made. not that this would not have value if if was his cigar, its just that this isnt the iconic JFK cigar.
i would say it has more value than a pre embargo cuban cigar but less value than the iconic H. Uppman JFK owned pre embargo cigar.
as for actual value, you will have to talk to people that collect cigars. I smoke them.
Welcome aboard
