Congrats Doc!! (& Rodney and everyone else who's droppin' weight)
beatnic:
185 - 205. I'm like a frickin accordion.
The difference? Alcohol. Cruel world.
+1
I love my craft beers, heck I love beer in general .... but god damn those things have sooo many calories.
And now that it's summer, it's not helping that we've been keeping ice cream treats in the freezer .... those drumsticks are like friggin crack. Dang it!!
So do I guys, so do I! BUT, its been 7 weeks without a drop of alcohol for me so far and that has definitely been the most difficult. Especially when you consider I live on the lake! Don't think I have ever taken my own boat out without having a drink of some sort til now!
Congrats, I know how much of a struggle it is. I went to my Doctor 5 weeks ago and she said two things I didn't want to hear, "gastric bypass and insulin."
Since then, I've lost 18 pounds, mostly through portion control and increasing my walking. I'm still basically hungry all the time and my Doctor does not believe in appetite suppressants, but I won't give up. The bad news is I still have 90 or so more pounds to lose or I have to grow about a foot and a helf taller. I guess at my age, I'll just have to lose the weight!
Just hit the two-thirty point and couldn't be happier. I decided to push down to two hundred with the help of a customized weight lose program for the disabled. Congratulations to every one who took inspiration from this man and made a healthier life chose.

We are twins..lol..down almost 30 but back issues cramp my exercise ability
Hey we should talk Yank. This program I am on is designed for people EXACTLY like you. A friend that started me on this program, is a Family Practice MD and he said he is taking people off of insulin and metformin everyday! Anyway, PM if you wanna know more!

I have not exercised ONE time. In fact, exercise is actually advised AGAINST on this program.
Who would have thought it a year ago?
A weight lose thread on a cigar forum. For all who I have missed recently, congratulations on loosing even a pound.
Every one counts, from one too infinity.
Starting at 250, I am now at 220 and still pushing every day for the 200 mark.
I conceder it akin to taking a fifty pound sack of sand off my shoulders and hence my joints! As an extra incentive I am down one blood pressure pill a day with two to go, that is my ultimate goal. Three pills a day lost with the weight.

Congratulations to all. I have watched some of my loved ones fight their weight... I have been blessed with a metabolism that keeps me at the heaviest of 230... most days I run around 215. But I have seen the trials and tribulations of those who have to work at their weight. Again congratulations to all!

I never weighed over one-seventy my entire life until I hit the fortieth year and then everything changed. Middle age brings on a lot of changes, both medical and physical. Where I could run now I hobble, those types. As the old saying goes "knock on some wood" for your good fortune!

PM's responded to fellas. Quick update on me....weighed in this morning after travelling for the weekend and truly thought that I would've gained a few lbs. But to my surprise, I was at 217 this morning. So I am now officially down 41lbs and still trucking toward my goal of 53lbs. Thanks for all the encouragement and guys keep up the good work!

I seemed to have hit a plateau around the two-twenty mark and would still like to loose twenty more pounds. Any suggestions?
Absolutely, plateaus are part of weight loss. The thing that I have noticed is when I plateau, I check my water intake. I am drinking about 100-120oz per day currently. If I fall under 90oz or so, I lose less. I am not sure what your diet consists of, but if you are eating 3 meals/day, split that up into 6 evenly spaced meals. This will "keep the motor running" all day long! Hope this helps and feel free to PM, email, or call/text me if I can help further!

Your suggestions worked well for me. 218 and dropping, I also started walking a mile a day in place of a half of a mile. Hurts like crazy with my crippled old bones but the end results are worth it as the pounds disappear I find that walking without the extra weight is easier by the day.

First off, I apologize for my absence lately. With all the things going on, I've been extremely busy. I decided to take this one step further and became a certified health coach now. So, as you may have guessed, I made it! I lost my 53 lbs last week!!! It took me a total of 70days and I am currently maintaining it. I celebrated this weekend and managed to keep the weight off some how. As promised, here are my before and after pics:
Before(258lbs):
After(205lbs):
I want to thank you all for your encouragement and if I can ever help you achieve your goals, don't hesitate to ask for help. Cheers!
Congrats!! I've been working on dieting this summer and have lost 20lbs so far, it's such a great feeling when your hard work really does start to pay off! Keep it up!!
