How much money are you worth?

This is a crude question and one you are not obliged to answer if its too personal, but how much money have you spent on cigars overall for now (including items like humidor, cutters, lighters, humidification, etc.)? I looked at my number and I got scared and shivered... I feel awful now... lol... It's almost $850... Anybody care to buy my collection ;)? I'm thinking of closing all my customer accounts with various retailers...

So far, I've spent around 250 dollars here, plus around 200 bucks at the B&M. So, in the year that I've been a 'serious' smoker, around 450 dollars. That's a ballpark figure.

Wow... Now I feel even more irresponsible about my cigar spending. I've been into cigars for maybe 1.5 months, and I've spent easily $175 on sticks and equipment in that time - and I'm only working freelance! lol

Well, I haven't always had the money to spend. Before I could get too far in, I hit about a four month period or so where I didn't buy anything at all. I assure you, if I had the expendable income, that number would be far greater.

Yeah well, that is a big reason why I can not afford a house! So, was it really worth it? Yes and No. I can now age and have a shitload of different cigars to try but on the other hand, do I really NEED that many? My guess is that inventory is around 800 - 900. So, instead of a house I have cigars. Not the best choice!

Hm..... Maybe several members from here can just join and live together (to share expenses) and thus be able to free up capital. We can have the whole basement of a house converted to a walk in humidor! It CAN be done... Hm... I guess I gotta start looking for roommates now lol... After all - what is the point in buying a house? You will be paying off morgage for the rest of ur life. It might be much more worth to rent all ur life. I certainly dont mind a reasonable rent. Unless the morgage costs less per month than the rent.. then it makes sense..

I don't even want to think about this but I did the other day and it almost made me sick. Since I really started smoking fairly regularly in 2006, including wine fridges, coolers, and accessories its over $5000. Now if you include events and shipping charges for the games on here that'd probably be another $1000.

I also figured up that just in cigars right now(if I averaged them out to be valued at $6/ea) I'm holding over $2000

My worth and my actual $ spent are two greatly different things

I've spent close to, probably on all my B&M purchases, wine fridges, coolers, fridges, cutters, butane, lighters and etc.... Oh! and Cigars I'd be at around $3000

I've gotten cigars, have older cigars and things I've gotten for free... that would prolly add about another $1500

If my girlfriends asks.... Around $75

    I'M IN!!!

On the topic at hand, I'm not sure about since I first started smokeing, but my best guess for my total this year alone has got to be in the neighborhood of $500-$600. The best part is that doesn't include my humidor because I got it for free at an event, along with my big Rocky Patel ashtray, my lighter...etc...etc... Hell even my nice Xikar cutter was a gift from my wife. Pretty much ALL of my money has been spent on cigars this year.

All of those extras really add up. I got that Don Carlos 30th Anniv humidor with 30 cigars. I spent $1250 in that, plus another $260 on the GoF Carlito Torpedo, and another approx $300 on that second Don Carlos 30th anniv humidor, lighters, etc... It does make me sick when I think about it.

I've been fairly responsible with this hobby. I have at least $5K of firearms and a couple grand worth of ammo that I've collected over the years, cigars not even close. With humidors, cutters, cigars, I'm probably around $400. But I am just getting started, really. I'm at that point where I need to get a coolidor and I'll probably start buying quite a few more when I have room to store them.

I don't have an actual dollar figure, I should ask Jeff next time I talk to him.
But it is definately a number with three zero's behind it.
I must have spent close to $500 in the last month. But I was trying to get ahead on some stock so, I would guess it comes in at around $300 a month.
OK someone hijack this thread quickly. before the wife finds and reads this !
