I picked up an Oliva Serie V and an Oliva Serie V Melanio to smoke on Thanksgiving. I’m looking forward to sampling these as I really enjoyed the Serie V Melanio Maduro. Waiting on a sampler of Man O’ War Salomones as well.

I fell for the deals this morning myself. Got some Phantoms and Tat Blacks (I prefer the corona gorda size though) and some other stuff which I already forgot what it was. Hope it is good

The long pointy side is too straight; instead of gliding along under the band it dives into the wrapper. They must be made of some hardened steel because when I tried to bend it into a curve it just snapped, broke off about even with the red ball (which is there for a reason and assists with seam-ripping - it's not just so that you don't stick yourself). After a few touches on my bench grinder, the broken tip got beveled upward and appeared to work well on the R/P I had last night.
I should have three more test cigars today to see if any refinements are needed; I can't just slice off bands willy-nilly ahead of smoking them since we all know how the whole structure of the forum rests on my posting photos of what I'm smoking when I'm smoking it.

I use a pocket knife. I've considered this before but most of my bands come off cleanly.
For Roma Craft I can usually slide them down over the cherry if they won't slide up.
