I'm not only a noob to cigars, but a noob to this site as well. I don't know what this forum was like pre format change, but I know what I see (or read) as it stands now. What I like about this forum is there are clearly some vets here worth looking up to. Reading your posts and watching you interact makes me want to carry this on, and be a part of it. Nowhere else have I felt a sense of responsibility as a noob to put in my two cents. I'm sure I've missed out on meeting some great people here in the past, but I'll do my part to make sure we keep this thing alive.
cheers, and thanks for letting me feel like a brother!
I'd love to see more review type pairings threads. I have really enjoyed the booze threads and there is a lot of great info on bourbon and scotch here. A couple pairings threads have come and gone, but maybe we can get a good one going...
My life is complete. Most of the cool kids here replied to my post. I have made life long friends here. I consider most of you family and would welcome you into my home. You guys have been there with me through many ups and downs over the years.
I will admit this new format is part of the reason I am not more active. I kind of stepped out for a few months and now it is just different and I think I am getting it down.
It is amazing how a format change can throw you off for a while, kinda like new sneakers sometimes. I remember at work how many times we would get a newer "better" software and production would suffer for a while. Actually the software did about the same thing, on the production end, but was much more user interfaced and colorful. When I left everything was going touch-screen, so funny to watch people tapping the screen like a wood-pecker, lol. Would walk by and tell them to hit the right combo and you might get a peanut, lol.

I have been totally overwhelmed with work and life (mostly work... I have no life), and haven't had time to do much of anything. The format change probably contributed in a small way to my recent inactivity, just because it required more effort to stay involved. Mostly, though, it's been constraints of time and resources. But @Bigshizza texted me a few days ago and threatened... err... invited me to come back, so I'll try to visit a little more often. Miss you guys!

Looks like I'm in the same boat as others where life has just been kicking my ass recently. I haven't felt like myself at all and that has definitely affected me being involved on here. I've looked in from time to time but I can probably count on one hand the number of Cigars I've smoked in the last two plus months.
Between family issues, breaking up with my girlfriend a couple weeks before I was planning on proposing, work BS and then having the medical bills from getting injured at work put on me even though they were supposed to cover them it's just been brutal.
Hopefully things take a turn for the better and I can start enjoying the hobby again and participating more but just wanted to at least drop a line and keep everyone posted.

Hi Doug! The new format takes some getting used to, but please persevere. Lot of great new guys on here.
Whatcha smokin now days?
Hi Brad! Really have missed you crazy BOTLs! Just been burning through the inventory. Recent favs have included a few Tatuajes and the new Island Jim blend by Oscar that I picked up at the Leaf & Bean. Had a CAO the other night that had been resting for 2 years and it was amazing. How about you?

I've had two of them and have really enjoyed them. I'm not great at describing flavor profiles, but it's a nice medium/full bodied blend. Pretty sure I picked up a note of coffee on the last one. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

A mixture, but favs are Cohiba Siglos, anything Crowned Heads, and some MOW.
BTW, looks like you grew some facial hair while you were gone.
