@Hobbes86 hasn't been in since mid-july. Did one of you guys run him off?

Not one, but three. It was a pile-on.

You're wrong. It was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Edit : Also... I agree with the straw.

That may be true, and whether what was said justified his departure or not, I can't say. That's entirely his decision. What I do know is, what was said was NOT said with the same bantering, trollish, meant-in-jest sarcasm much of the disagreements here use. What was said was entirely in earnest, and he left because of it.

I saw this post last night, before you edited it, asking for screenshots of the post/posts. You know exactly where they are, and anyone else who wants to know what was said can easily find them. I'm not going to be the hobby horse you ride to justify yourself.

I edited it to not put you in that position. But seeing you brought it up, just like Ian, some people just won't ever fit.

LOL. Pete, you brought it up. You were the first to respond to Shawn's query, acknowledging that Ian was run off, and IMO, disingenuously so.

That's right... you still have zero clue. You think it's a secret I wasn't a big fan of that guy. Zero fan. You weren't privy to any of the vHerf conversations had or any of the conversations that predate your discovery of the forum. My opinion, guy didn't fit. There are others that will come and go just like Ian. Fine with me.

Pete, I don't have zero clue. You think anyone who doesn't come on the VHerf isn't trying to fit in, and you keep saying "you don't know us or the context", etc.etc. But conversely, that also means you don't know me, yet you act like you do. Furthermore, you continue to interpret everything I say in the most negative light possible, even without knowing me. That speaks more about you than it does about me.
I know now that you (and others) didn't like Ian. But, you knew very well you helped to run him off (even if that wasn't your intent) when you stated "Yup, but it wasn't me".
OK, you think I'm "packed words". Fine with me. I haven't only participated in the Political and Contest threads, so your reading of me in inaccurate as well. I haven't lied about anything though. You have.
And with that, have a fine Sunday.

I had the testicular fortitude to say to him directly how i felt about his views, I didn't mince words. And, he wasn't run off, he left. No one told him to go. He just came to the realization this may not be a fit for him.

And to the vHerf quote. I'm not saying anyone who doesn't join isn't trying to fit in. But most of the time you're only getting 1/4 to 1/2 the story or context. There are a lot of inside jokes, that out of context could be misconstrued. @OutdoorsSmoke_21191 knows where I stand. I don't have a shovel beard or tattoos.

    To which part?

John's post showed up before yours in my feed, even though they're both the same time stamp, so I'm guessing to the 'vherf ban' part.

But we don't need no stinkin' ban. We'll just make those with opposing views feel uncomfortable and eventually they'll leave of their own accord. And we'll be fine with it because, after all, we can't make anyone do anything - it'll be their own decision.

Let's get back on track here. @Vision I wasn't around to witness Ian's offenses against you. How bad was it?
