Im soooo jelly of anyone who doesn't have to face sub zero temperatures. The Boss doesn't believe or endorse the expense of a smoking room. Maybe I need to get frostbite first?
Thanks John but I already have the fan. Kindly appreciate it.
You're welcome Al. And in that case, the offer still stands for anyone else that could use the fan.
Sounds like you got a good plan for ventilation & fresh air..... Now all you need is a comfy leather chair, mini-fridge, radio or TV, and maybe a rug so you don't have to walk on the cold concrete floor.
I wish I could have a nice indoor cigar room, maybe when we move but it won't happen in this house.
One of the benefits of the kids being grown and gone is having a little bit more money plus I can do everything but wire it. Plus I'm keeping it simple so when we sell the place it will look like a storage room cause a lot of potential buyers are anti smokers. Framing it this weekend.
When faced with the choice of not smoking,or freezing my @ss of outside this winter, I decided to improvise a smoking room. The storage shed in the back yard is 12'x10' and has a concrete floor. It was full of boxes and leftover props from my wife's shows. Two trips to the recycling center for the cardboard and a little organization of her stuff left me a man cave. An extension cord and surge protector for multiple outlets, ceramic heater, old comfy chair, bad lighting, and a table made from leftover shelving. I hope to add a tv soon so I can watch hockey, smoke, vherf, and drink beer! Bliss!!
Not yet. Drywall was already done. I stapled some old sheets to the ceiling for temporary insulation. I have 2 Schwinn suburban bicycles, all original from the early 70s ( a gift from father in law) that are taking up a lot of room if anyone wants to buy them. Unfortunately women's model or they would be worth a lot more! Any bicycle collectors out there?
Friends don't let good friends smoke cheap cigars.
Thanks Al. A cave compared to what you and Mark are building, but it works for me. Luckily winter is a short season here! My wife wants to "decorate", I just want a tv and a Blackhawks flag!

Very Nice @guitarded If I may offer a suggestion...
Run a separate #12 conductor extension cord for the heater. Do not run it off of the surge protector and/or power strip. Don't want your cave catching on fire.
Life is too short to smoke bad cigars!!!
Oh when the Blues, Oh when the Blues, Oh when the Blues go marching in!
However comical that would probably be at the time, I would not be able to live with myself if anyone got hurt and I did not say something. Due to my line of work, I am always on the look out for personal safety when it comes to electricity. I have seen the same scenario play out too many times and usually does not end well. You will just have to settle for a different form of entertainment...@guitarded, you are on the clock my friend.

I just visited a completed room that
was very similar to yours, the finished product is impressive. Since
the only tool I own is a hammer I will stick to what I understand.
All, and I mean all electric outlets
are sunk and made all most invisible with some really neat covers,
and there are twice as many as you would normally have. They put in
radiant heating so bare footsies would be comfortable. A really soft
and thick carpet. The TV and stereo components are all on one wall
with the wiring hidden behind a false wall. Lighting is recessed with
other lights in the corners at floor level. A converted beer keg
serves as a really cold beer keeper. Any pipes that had to be covered
were done in press board and shelves attached. The only window was
done in stain glass by his wife. There is one weird shaped little
area that goes from floor to ceiling they covered in peg board. And
God only knows why but there is a disco ball still in the box on the
floor. They put in a heavy metal door with one of those inside doors
that when the top glass is pulled down there is a screen (we have
them on all our doors). The final touch (I wish I had one but
expensive) is one of those flat air cleaners for odors and smoke.
Disclaimer, I have no idea what this
all cost and I do not have the skills to do such things.
