Your either A. Not married or B. Divorced multiple times. IMHO.
Heh! Good one..........but.........happily married 26 years.....2 adult kids.......been empty nesters for a while. I don't tell my wife what she can't or shouldn't buy. She gives me the same space. We are both reasonable adults, who don't find it necessary to monitor each other. We do discuss major purchases of course. But she doesn't give a crap if I go and buy a box of Padrons, and a couple fivers of MF Le Bijou Petite Robs, like I did recently. I do my own monitoring of cigar buying, and regularly put myself on hiatus.
My philosophy is simple. As long as I have less than 1,000 cigars..............I don't have a "problem". All you azzhats with more than 1000 cigars need to be monitored by a cigar warden!
I was with ya till the azz hat comment, if it was intended as a dig. If it's just BOTL banter then it's all good. i just let her to the finances cuz she enjoys it and I don't

I have a problem then. LOL! Some guys have pretty good discipline and can do that. Some of us are smart enough to know that we don't. And we're fortunate to have wives who are really good with money.
I get my "allotment" every month. It is usually a pretty decent budget to get things I want. Cigars, parts/accessories for the SS and things like that. Knowing I don't have the resolve to save money, I have someone who does it for me.
When I was getting frustrated with our "plasma" big screen, we stopped at a store and they had a 65" Vizio smart TV on sale for a good price, I asked if we had money for it. She said yes, I bought it. If she'd have said, we don't have the money right now, I wouldn't have. When she is going to make a big purchase, she tells me what she's doing. Not to ask permission, but because we tell each other.
After 30 years being married and 36 years together, we pretty much have it figured out.
Like @Oyam123, I generally have no idea how much I make. I get overtime and per diem, which she has me add to my prepaid card and it becomes part of my allowance. February's OT check was $1,000. That goes well and she knows I will spend it all eventually. LOL!
In Fumo Pax Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.
Ha! whatever works man! Back in 2013, I told myself never to go over 1,000 cigars, and I've been able to stick to that..........just barely sometimes........but I've never gone over 1000.
I will confess that taking up pipe smoking makes it easier to buy less cigars. heh heh...............I actually prefer a pipe for my morning smoke nowadays.
I have a credit card that I had before I met and got married pay it online nad went paperless with it so no statement mailed to the house We also have sepertae checking and saving accounts we can transfer money back and forth but she has an general idea of how much I spend, good thing she doesn't have a precise idea.

Interesting. I will be in St Louis next weekend for Metallica and a few Behike's may stop me from stopping by and discussing this with the Mrs.

Fur realz! I'd been thinking about it for 5+ years........but never got around to it. Then a good friend and botl from another site blew up my porch, in a literal late night drive-by bombing. -Brand new MM cob pipe and a pack of cleaners -GLP -Peter Stokkebye -Dunhill Navy Medallions and more
I was hooked from the first bowl.... It's nice to be able to enjoy a 15 or 20 minute smoke. My smallest cigars (currently MUWAT Baitfish) take at least 40 minutes, and I don't usually have that kind of time in the morning. (I know there's thinner/smaller cigarillo types of "cigars".....not a fan.) But a 15 minute pipe smoke with coffee is fantastic in the morning.
When I was in the Navy, my buddies and I had T-Shirts made that looked like the EA Sports logo. Instead it said "EAD" and on the back it said "It's In My Pants!"
Just a preventative measure against tobacco beetles. I don't have central air in my house and what doesn't fit in the wine cooler has to live in the humidor on top.

Central air is still too new in our part of the country. Some of them there rich folk up on the hill might have it, but we just have a little ol' swamp cooler that we hang in the window from mid July to late August, if it ever gets too warm. Usually it doesn't.

Central air is a necessity in AZ, been freezing to prevent beetles as we only cool to 80, wine cooler quit cooling but only fluctuates from 72 to 77 degrees

One of mine went out yesterday. Ordered a replacement heat sink for 30 bucks. Hopefully that works

That's the cooling element in the thermoelectric. The board still works because the controls are lit and still work and the temp gauge is working. Before I unplugged it it was still running just not blowing cold air

I don't have a warden and don't intend ever to. Reading and hearing about this sort of thing only makes me want to stay away from women in general. Far too controlling.
