Starting to snow here. Supposed to get 4-6 inches tonight and more tomorrow. I enjoy getting my layers on, grabbing my walking stick and heading out for a couple of miles in the snow. It's quiet and I can track deer, coyotes, and turkeys.

Warm enough that I could open and clean some windows - I used to do that on a more regular basis but some have gotten so that I couldn't see through them when the sunlight was upon them. Warm enough that all my bedding is hanging on the clothesline. Warm enough that when Nathan and I are smoking upstairs later today, the window can be open enough for good ventilation.
Major Santa Anna wind advisory. Power company has shut down all power in our little mountain town. ‘03 & ‘07 fires have drastically impacted and changed power grid and supply lines protocol in potential fire threat weather conditions. Lit some candles, hooked up the freezers to generator and sitting outside smoking a cigar 🤙🏼

Power still out and possibly through Wednesday. Winds at 35-40 mph currently. Gusts up to 65. Generator is running for my freezers. I have enough gas but getting morejust in case.
We got it good here, @Jrflickster, 0* and going up, up, up, to 12* later today.
Yesterday we got less than a 1/2" of snow but at times I could not see across the street. I guess that's what they call a whiteout.
My last job, in the late 90's / early 00's, I worked outside in the 2-man shipping department. The other guy was a loon, and many things about him come to mind from time to time, resulting in a good chuckle while I go about my days.
He knew a little German and how the word for snow is schnee, pronounced shnay. When we'd get some snow he'd come into the office to warm up and just say one word with a low, happy growl, "Shnay." I think he thought it was a funny-sounding word and just liked saying it. The trouble is, now he's got me saying it. Shnay.

42 F this morning at 8:30 AM, time to start keeping the lighters inside so I don't have to go skin-to-skin with them to warm them up first.
