You have to admit you can learn a lot by tracking USPS packages. For instance, I never would have guessed that Opa Locka FL was to be found en route from Pennsylvania to Tennessee. Who knew?

Had a talk with the McSherrystown postmaster yesterday on that very topic. We were looking for a package sent north to CT which instead went 100 miles south from Lancaster PA to Waldorf MD. He said many post offices were just shipping packages out to anywhere they might think had more time to attend to them, just to clear their own floors. None of this explains why it took a week to get from McSherrystown to Waldorf, nor what it's been doing for a week in Waldorf. Most of our missing stuff which touches at Lancaster goes out to Kansas City. But we've had St Louis, Oxford MS, Nashville, you name it.

OTOH, we did get two ads from Verizon, four catalogs for women's clothing, and a stack of flyers full of stoops yesterday, here at the house. So there's that.

10 days out from date of purchase, Left Opa Locka on the 28th and hasn't been seen since. Perhaps it's booked a room in New Orleans, waiting for Mardi Gras?

I'm beginning to regret all those times when I thought good things about the post office.

The package has arrived in Memphis, a week after leaving Opa Locka FL. Probably just stopped at the casino in Biloxi and partied for awhile.

Where to next? Will it travel the remaining 2 hours north to my location? Or, perhaps decide to ride on down to Texas, or up to Colorado?

    Happens all the time.
Our packages arrive Opa Locka, about 6 miles South off my house. The package then goes by my house to the USPS Office 4 miles North of our house.
Of course thats if the two packages have not been stuck in Kentucky Since the first week of December,

PA to DE, wow! Yeah, I'd definitely have to hit KC MO on the way, how could you not?

Interesting development, while it took my COTMC package from Dec 28th until last Friday to get here, the order I placed with some difficulty yesterday has gone from Pennsylvania directly to Tennessee. Skipped the east coast tour with the new- normal stops in New Jersey, Maryland, Florida, God knows where. Perhaps things are getting back to the "Old Normal".

Good One! I shipped a number of similar. Most popular dog-leg was Kansas City.

Our daily batch going out are definitely catching up, tho. Right now, we pay for two-day priority and we get a week. That's one heck of a lot better than it was this date last month. Best of all, the longest stragglers in my tickle list have all been delivered.

That's business. Hobby-wise: I buy leaves to roll my own gars from Whole Leaf Tobacco in Akron. I ordered a bagful of wrappers a week and a half ago. Usually takes two days to get here. Bypassed DullAware. Stuck in Philly, not moving.

A lot of the cigar houses (except the page) are using UPS now instead of USPS. Got my cigar.com order in three days. It seems this problem is regional. Everything from PA has been terrible lately, everything else has moved like normal. Not sure what the heck is going on but some management needs to be held accountable for this terrible operations situation. Scapegoating the mainline workers isn't an acceptable excuse. They need to fix this immediately, it's a national embarrassment at this point.

I got a recent one from them in 4 days (usps) but still have two others that were shipped on Jan 6th just stalled out in PA. Another from the yesterday is moving also (three scans in two days). Hopefully, this means things are improving.

Good experience with USPS this week. I ordered a few things over the weekend, two shipped UPS and one USPS and all three had an initial arrival of Thursday of this week. Got an email from USPS updating the arrival to today. Cool. It was in my mailbox when I got home last night. Apparently they work holidays when they're backed up like this.

Look at government run Healthcare, the VA. As long as the people making the rules exempt themselves it won't get any better.
