Robo Calls.
OK. So Verizon and one or two carriers are now giving lip service to do something about it.
The carriers could stop all of it over night if they really wanted to.
So, it is just words.
Spam.
Email services could stop it overnight if they wanted to.
But I honestly believe at least one particular service is in cahoots with the jerks doing it.
The so called blockers they provide are a joke.
They know where the garbage originates and do nothing.

Complained to PayPal and the response was "can't o anything about it". Let me see if I understand, someone is using "PayPal", your business name, and you can't/won't do anything about it?
I threatened to forward all correspondence to what ever agency I could find, anywhere. The fing emails stopped. I don't know if it was the implied threat or they just removed their heads from the dark space. Or, dare I say, they were the ones sending them.
They said my social security number has been frozen and to press 1 for more info.
So I press 1.
This guy comes on and says my social security number has been frozen because of suspicious activity.
Oh, well that sounds serious.
It is, he said. We need to double check our records to confirm that it isn't being used fraudulently.
Well, that's a big word, hang on a second, I need to look that up.
Fra- Frad- Frad-U Frad-U-Lent Frad-U-Lent-Lee. Wow, that is a cool word. I'm gonna have to remember that word. Fraudulently. Fraudulently.
Sir, sir. We need to confirm you social security number.
Oh. Well, don't you govt folks have it? I mean, you called me.
Yes sir, but we need to confirm the number.
Ok, what is it?
Sir, what is what?
The number! The one you want me to confirm!
No sir, we need you to confirm the number on your social security card.
Ok, what is it?
No! Sir, please listen. We need to know what your social security number is.
Oh. Don't you got it? You called me. Hey! How do you know what my social security number is and how to call me?
It's on the record of the phone. The owner of the phone is who we are calling.
Ok, cause this is a work phone. You sure you're calling the right person?
Yes sir, what is your name?
Puddintane, ask me again and I'll tell you the same.
HA HA HA HA HA!!

Oh dammit, this was just getting fun.
Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.
A few weeks ago, when there was mention of a new law dealing with them, I cleared my blocked caller list, it was a big list. I have not received one single call, of that type, since I did. And I was getting 3 or 4 a week, sometimes that many in a day.
Edited. Added....And I was getting....
