I have a few Wooden Humidors and thinking of switching to some of the new acrylic humidors using the Boveda packets. With that said, I do understand that the Acrylic hold a more constant humidity level, but I heard that only the Cedar Lined Humidors allow the cigars to age where Acrylic does not. Is it advisable to let them first age in the Cedar Lined Humi and then store them in acrylic?
The cigars are going to age regardless. The cedar doesn’t help them age it just helps to impart a certain flavor into SOME cigars. The best advice I can give is buy a cooler…then buy a bigger one. Place your cigars inside of a cigar box or humidor if you want the cedar…but it is definitely not necessary. Then buy whatever rh Boveda packs you prefer and don’t worry about it.
I've been using a plastic box with a foam gasket in the lid since 2016. works great. throw a couple cigar boxes to hold your cigars or not. it will age either way. the box holds the humidity in from the boveda packs, no issues. Picked up a hygrometer from walmart and boom it was done for under 20$ and never had any issues. Oh, did i remember to tell you that i never had any issues like wooden humidors do? A lot of people use acrylic and other non wooden storage methods......just throw in some sheets of cedar and you are good to go.
Just add a few cedar sheets, doesn't take much. Welcome to the forum.
Don't let the wife know what you spend on guns, ammo or cigars.
Make sure you use Spanish cedar, it's more like manzanita, regular cedar it's too overpowering.

You heard wrong. Cedar will impart some aroma/flavor, but a cigar will age w/o it.
BTW, what's your definition of 'aging' when it comes to cigars.
Ziploc bags and boveda.
